Icon stage one or stage two?

+1,000 If there was a 2.5" with reservoir option available for the rear of 1st gens I would jump on it. Plannerman said: If you’re rig is really heavy, you’ll probably be better off with 2.5s all the way around. That's true. The one thing I wish I'd done on my suspension is to just buck up...

Icon stage one or stage two?

I have ICON stage 4 (front and rear resi and UCA). Couldn't be happier, the suspension makes on road driving MUCH improved, and the off road driving is night and day.

    255/85R16 ST/Maxx dilemma

Also guilty of excessive cornering speed! The Icon stuff improved handling too much to not take advantage.

    255/85R16 ST/Maxx dilemma

Every 6k. It don’t get really noticeable until around 22-25k. According to Cooper: We recommend you rotate tires on front wheel drive vehicles and/or all season tires on any vehicle every 5,000 to 8,000 miles to equalize the rate of wear.

    255/85R16 ST/Maxx dilemma

I'll share the results of the tire shave in a couple of weeks. Hoping that it works! I'm interested to see how the new 'quieter' KM3 compares to the ST/Maxx since BFG will be offering the new tire in 255/85R16. Too bad no one makes an all terrain.

    255/85R16 ST/Maxx dilemma

Performance off-road is fantastic! The wear is super choppy and loud. I’m going to take it to a third shop that will shave and balance ‘on the truck’.

    255/85R16 ST/Maxx dilemma

I've had the balance and alignment checked by two separate shops. The wear is incredibly uneven, each lug has a high and low spot. I'm willing to give them another try if the set I have is a dud, but if the uneven wear is typical then I'd rather go with a different tire.

no alignment issues, about 30k miles.

    255/85R16 ST/Maxx dilemma

I have a 2003 Tacoma and I'm currently running 255/85R16 ST/Maxx. The tires were very quiet when new, but have worn incredibly uneven despite regular rotations and are now incredibly loud. All other 255 options seem like they would be even louder. I'd really like to stay with this size, but...

    AT Tacoma Habitat: Official Thread

The Habitat did fine work as a mobile search and rescue vehicle in Houston after Harvey. It allowed me to stay in badly flooded areas without worry of high ground.

    1st gen taco habitat build

Since photo bucket crashed, I figured I'd post up some recent pics from my latest adventures in southern Appalachia as well as some pictures from my trip out to Houston to help with hurricane Harvey rescue operations. I've got to say that the setup was almost perfect for rescue operations. At...

So I'm beginning to think I need to reinforce the frame. Anyone know of someone who sells a .250" plate for a double cab?

So I put a set of pro comp add a leafs to the OME packs when I swapped left and right, and I gained around 2" over factory stock, right where I want it to be. It's still not 100% level left to right, but the lean is unnoticeable compared to before. Next tuesday, winch, bumpers, and skids!!

    1st gen taco habitat build

The OME springs already have an AAL. I haven't reinforced the frame yet, the new spring got rid of all axle wrap, so I'm not sure if I'll ever reinforce the frame. I don't plan on painting it. For the interior, first step is to lineX the bed and install Etrack along the bed rail and in between...

    1st gen taco habitat build

Yeah, upgraded HD front springs from Icon and HD rear springs from OME. The OME springs in the rear come in an 'A' and 'B' configuration for Tacomas where the 'A' spring is slightly higher rating than the 'B' spring to counteract the driver side weight of the fuel tank. The shop that installed...
