Is it possible to get one of these hightop TroopCarriers (or reasonable facsimile) in North America?

That's cheap....although the left hand thing is kind of a pain. i'm looking at a 2005 HZJ78, with 30,000k for $54KCAN. I can do it there and drive around with it there for a while with an Alucab. Not sure of the availability of pop up tents here.

Is it possible to get one of these hightop TroopCarriers (or reasonable facsimile) in North America?

Hello, I'd like to import a LHD Landcruiser camper to Canada from Germany. Where is best place to look or do you have people that can shop this for me?

Is it possible to get one of these hightop TroopCarriers (or reasonable facsimile) in North America?

Love the Tacoma! I was thinking that a Land Cruiser would be more accessible for parts etc in more parts of the world. Hilux may be sensible the answer. Opinion on diesel or petro?

Is it possible to get one of these hightop TroopCarriers (or reasonable facsimile) in North America?

Interesting... Thanks for sharing your experience. I saw the Wander Libre vehicle for sale and thought it perfect but that speed issue is well, an issue. What Land Cruiser (or 4x4) vehicle would you suggest would be better for world travel for longer road trips? I'm thinking Europe, SA, Asia.

    Convert 2019/20 4x2 Fuso 140 FE (gas) to 4x4?

Mr. M, you are exactly where I am at in this dilemma. Want cabover, prefer 4x4, looking at Transit, looking at 2x4 to 4x4 conversion etc etc. Everyone points to Fuso BUT along with them pulling out of NA I found it unanimous amongst the heavy truck mechanics I spoke to when I asked them what...

Is 4x4 really necessary for a cabover build?

yup. my thoughts exactly. F350/550: cons: long hood, lower cool factor. pros: good ride, easy to get parts, no 4wd conversion, bed over the cab. Cabover: pros: big, cool, height, storage can be built in chassis, good turning radius Cons: big, sourcing parts, slow and heavy, bed will...

Is 4x4 really necessary for a cabover build?

I've been flip flopping between a F350-550 or cabover. Currently back on cabover for the storage, no 5' hood, living room and frankly cool factor.

Isuzu NPR or Hino. Why not build on these?

    thats good to know. thanks!

Isuzu NPR or Hino. Why not build on these?

What a great looking truck!! I also posted asking forum if 4x4 is actually necessary. I'm leaning toward no and simply having slip differential with raised clearance will be enough for my purposes. BTW, the Fuso has a larger GVWR as well as I'm told much heavier drive train than the the...

Is 4x4 really necessary for a cabover build?

Considering Fuso but it's a pain and $ to convert to 4x4 and thus the question. I've driven my Odyssey, Mini, dads station wagon, cheapo rental through snow storms, Patagonia and outback New Zealand and rarely got stuck....but I dont want to invest big bucks into a cabover just to find I...

Is 4x4 really necessary for a cabover build?

This is a question for those that actually have a rig and go exploring. Unlike myself, who is just planning/dreaming. A bit of a loaded question i know... but it's for those that don't park at Walmart for weeks, but do go on logging roads but don't enjoy going to a campsites beside the...

Isuzu NPR or Hino. Why not build on these?

Why are Isuzu or Hino's not used for platforms to build upon? I know they do not make 4x4 in North America but they seem like a great option for accessible parts and gas (not diesel). What am I missing? They are everywhere in Canada and seem to manage just fine through a foot of snow and...

    Thoughts on used EarthRoamer?

4x4, sleeps 3/4 people, dining area for those rainy days, shower, toilet. Pretty simple needs. I'd consider a trailer but leaning away from it. Not a marble countertop guy.

    Thoughts on used EarthRoamer?

Thanks for perspective! Appreciate it. Not so much that I can't deal with some mechanical issues, its just that I probably don't want to at this stage in my life. The idea of getting something dependable and drive it into the ground ignoring the small issues is appealing. Any other 4x4...

    Thoughts on used EarthRoamer?

Hey Joe, Just read post about your rigs journey and build. Awesome. Your rig profile wants/needs are very similar to mine. Let me pick your brain for moment if you don't mind....Did you consider used Earthcruisers or any other North American vehicles? They are expensive especially if...
