XGrid had one at RITO last fall. They are pretty cool. Was considering it, but too small for 2 people and the dog without setting up the canvas. I think they are planning on having it at MOORE this year too
Well ************ update but my pup was just diagnosed with cancer. So changing requirements for my trailer. Still going to look at the Voyager at More but thinking about the mission overland at this point
Yeah the plan would be the dog downstairs when he is with us. The downstairs mattress folds into a couch so that would probably be the configuration when the dog is there. I think you can leave the portal open even when people are in it, but not 100% sure. Though usually don't have anyone...
I had Jeremy at Xgrid put together a video of the 2024 Voyager with the portal. Going to take a real close look at this one at MOORE expo. I think it may come in a tad over 7ft with the tent, but waiting to hear back with measurements
I actually saw the demo unit at RITO last fall. It's too tall and loaded the weight would be close to limit, and with the additional height would be more than I would want to tow. It was a nice looking trailer though
TetonX is on the list if I decide to go with something that isn't garageable. Talked to Xgrid Knoxville today and they are supposed to have a Voyager with the portal and a TetonX at MOORE expo so will be taking a closer look at both of them.
Pretty much stuck with the 7ft garage, though I may end up with something bigger and find a storage unit. The arkto g12
I have thought about that and may go that route if I can't find anything and can find a somewhat local shop that can do the work
The floor plan looks doable, but not sure I'm up to dealing with that entire process. I've looked at some of the trailers on Alibaba and might end up going that way if I can't find something backed by a US company, but the headache of dealing with manufacturing and importing doesn't seem worth...
I guess I'm looking for a unicorn, because not finding anything that works. I'm wanting a smaller trailer that has room for 2 adults and an older 70lb dog that doesn't sleep on the bed, has problems climbing onto a bunk and can't curl up in a very small space.
