Thanks, guys. I am going to do a dry run later with my girls and dog in the back seat to see how it goes. This might be OK for shorter trips but we travel to Colorado every summer and that won't fly for 10-12 hours.
I was hoping to make the Landcruiser work as I like to wheel wherever I am...
Hi guys,
I have a question and just looking for some options of how to travel with kids and dogs. My last dog was very old when we had kids so he did not come with us, so this a new problem. We now have a new Yellow lab and my girls are 9 & 11 we pull a 24' travel trailer with my 2012 Tundra 5.7...
What a great truck! What color did you paint the truck? Is that Toyota color 6H9? That is the same color I want to do my 40 someday. This truck deserves a write up.
Just go out to a dirt or gravel road and exercise them some by doing some wide slow turns. If they have not been used in a while turn them on and off a few times and they "should" engage. Good luck, lockers are a game changer:ylsmoke:
Hey guys,
After going back and forth between selling my 40 or 80, the 80 is up for sale. The full description is in the for sale section. Please PM me for further details or additional pics, Thanks!
Beautiful truck! I have always loved the 60 series. If I was single this is the truck I would build up. With a wife and 2 girls the 80 is just right, the 40 is just for fun and it is just that. Congrats on finding such a clean rig.
I absolutely agree with 1911. This a unique 40 and that is why I bought it for "more" than others I was looking at that were in similar condition but much more run down. I see 40's with quite a bit of rust selling for $15k and it is shocking!
Thanks, Bikersmurf. Yes there is a lot I am forgetting right now. Disc brakes up front with 4x4 labs high steer kit. Full floating rear axle, drums in rear. Front windows have the vent, not solid glass. New brake lines and fluid flushed in the last 2 tears.
You're preaching to the choir 1911! I regret even throwing this out there, I LOVE my 40! I can drive my 80 anywhere and be safe and comfortable, but I get behind the wheel of the 40 and the feeling....well, you know. With 2 young daughters, a growing business and my wife complaining about 4...
I Love the color too, if it was done right. IF I had to take it all the way down I would either do the original paint, dune beige again or a color we did not get in the states.

Hopefully the above link works as most of my images are in that build. Like the title says, I MAY be selling my 40. I just bought a new Tundra for work and still have my 80 that I have a lot of time and $$ invested in. I...
That looks great, Adam!
Good information on the new MTR's, I had the first generation MTR's and loved them, went to BFG AT's but want to get back to MT's when these wear down some more. It will be between KM2's, Cooper MT and Wrangler MTR. Good looking fleet!
