    Front driveshaft angles issue - ‘12 2500

Alright, driveshaft shop calls and tells me, u-joints we’re getting there, but weren’t bad enough to cause vibration. Driveshaft itself was way out. 30+ thou on one end and was worse than that on the other! Lols!! They could try to repair it or I could buy a new one. Easy decision since I walked...

    Front driveshaft angles issue - ‘12 2500

I have a good DS shop down the road at work. Dropped it off this morning to have them check balance. They thought it would be worth while to replace the same joint you mentioned. I told them I don’t have a press, just do them both. I’m going to reinstall after I get it back, both ways to test...

    Front driveshaft angles issue - ‘12 2500

Got the drive shaft out in time help put the rug rats to bed. Win. Marked it up first. Took some pictures. Short video of the play I noticed previously. It may just be the slight play in the slip yoke, I don’t really know to be honest. Tried to upload but 15sec. was too big. I could take one...

    Front driveshaft angles issue - ‘12 2500

Also good points! My diff was moved laterally to the passenger side 5/8” because that’s how thick the CV Axle spacer on the driver side is. There is no spacer on the passenger side. Bushings seems decent to me, I had approx. 50,000 miles on the odometer when we installed the lift. I’m at 57,000...

    Front driveshaft angles issue - ‘12 2500

I’m 99% sure they quoted me the t-case and pinion angles and not the u joints angles. They told me it was crashing with both angles pointing up (I understood them as the t-case output and the front pinion “output,” if you will). I did crawl under it last night to look if shimming would even be...

    Front driveshaft angles issue - ‘12 2500

I need some help gurus. It’s getting cold and snowy and I go to use my 4WD modes on my 2012 2500 Suburban and I’m vibrating a noticeable bit in 4 Auto (and 4 High) at highway speeds. More than I ever noticed in my 2011 Silverado 1500, I had previously. I go to the local drivetrain shop thinking...

Oh yeah, I replaced all 4 individual door seals and the uniside rubber rain gutter seal that runs from the windshield along the top of the side doors and down the rear of the two rear doors. They were all sorts of jacked up from antennas sticking out previously. Gave me an opportunity to clean...

9300lb tow capacity stock. I’m pretty sure the limiting factor on this rig is the factory 2” hitch. I don’t anticipate having to really tow more than 6000lb ever with it. I wanted the 2500 for longevity of the drivetrain, option to add a locker to the front for very specific situations only...

Waiting on ARH headers then will Blackbear tune. Will do 4.10’s F&R and an ARB up front for pulling my river boat out in slick conditions Up North, in a bit. Really happy with how it’s turned out thus far! My plan is at least 300,000, hopefully 400,000+ miles. I’ll keep updating as I go from here.

Had to flippen trim even at 3” in the front, 255/80R17, and modestly backspaced H2 wheels (8.5” wide +18 BS) ? Did a small NorCal mod and used my little Hackzall to trim the front bumper supports. Easy peasy, no more rubby rubby. Did my front air dam while I was at it since the clips hang down...

The Skyjacker lift is a bit of an outlier due to modest lift compared to the premium price. I’ll tell you right now, I couldn’t be happier. My ball joint angles are great. My CV shafts are nearly flat. The Kryptonite steering system is nearly flat. I did the SS center link, tie rods, idler and...

The squeaky center console lid. I tinker a bit, if you haven’t noticed. McMaster Carr is next day delivery here in Metro Detroit. Stainless plastic self tapping screws (3/4” no. 8), black nylon finish washers, and rubber cushioning washers. No more movement. No more squeak. Still latches. That...

The dash. Jeebus. I bought a fit over and was going to be fine with it, till I found two other cracks in uncovered areas. ? Needed to get the passenger front air bag replaced and bit the friggen bullet and had them replace the whole dash while they were in there. The new dash is actually beefed...

First thing was get the fluids changed. Pretty much didn’t need it, which I expected being a US Federal Government vehicle, but I swapped it all out anyway for my own piece of mind. Next was get the exterior lined, rustproofed, and undercoated. Have a great guy here in MI, MJR Bullet Liner and...

Bought the Federale’ Comms vehicle back in Feb. 45,000 miles. Paid a premium, but 1/2 the cost of a new HD and I sold my 1500 Silverado for the current market premium. Being it was February, didn’t figure out the main AC control module was 1/2 shot till it got hot?‍♂️. Dash cracked on my way...

    Last 2500 Suburban

Had an independent shop take my computer low pressure warning down to 35psi. Life is good! I’m running 40psi cold at all four corners, just tooling around, no load. I’m not going to say night and day, but it is significantly better!
