Mine is a 3.43. It's also on 265's, which I agree, are way too big for the gear ratio. I have it lifted with the Boulder Offroad kit. When the current set of tires wear out, I'll probably put a 255 or even 245 BFG KO2 or 3.
Hey Beast - Does the Beast have seatbelts in the back for the kids to ride along? Are there additional seats available that were probably built in from when it was working as a shuttle bus?
Thanks
@Seaweed - Nice rig. What type of grill guard/bumper is that? How sturdy is it? I've been looking to add some front end protection after a few too many close calls with deer at twilight.
We have almost exactly the same vehicle! Mine is an '03 with a Chevy badge and a G80 LSD. I'd love to have an Eaton Selectable locker. I also just completed a 2.5-3" lift kit with rear springs from Boulder Off-road. I've owned it now for a little over and year and loved it for skiing and mtn...
Now that some of the core ride quality work is complete, I'm turning my attention to a couple other issues, and would appreciate guidance.
I need to purchase my headlight assemblies. Any recommendations for a decent aftermarket upgrade? I have the big blocky looking lights rather than the...
Well...It's done! Before and after shots of the Boulder Off-road Pro-Runner Plus Kit (Bilstein 5100's all around, plus 1300lbs stronger leaf springs). The van had clearly not had any suspension work done in 20yrs, and my poor mechanic had to battle the thing for 2.5days to get everything...
Yeah. Good call. I've read your post (Read all the 66pgs of post 🤷♂️). I'm going to stick with a modest 1.5-2" raise in the front for the time being. With the heavier spring pack in the back, I might have a little stink bug, but I ride heavy in the rear: I'm still adding more...
Boulder Off-Road 2' Pro-Runner Plus Kit en route! Finally, decided to bite the bullet and address the needs for a proper suspension upgrade. I have a few worn and broken parts (Broken leaf spring link, sagging 20yr old shocks, whacked out alignment, oversized BFG KO2's that have never really fit...
Thanks! I I already had it replaced with another 145amp. I'll still be able to run a 30-40amp B2B charger which is fine. The extra juice would have been nice, but I think it will be fine.
High Output Alternator Help!
My alternator just died on my 2003 Express AWD. It currently has a 145 amp unit, and I'd like to take the opportunity to upgrade to a 250-ish amp unit for charging house batteries and running accessory items. I can't seem to find a section of the thread here with...
