Upped the power bank to 300 Ah in total. Hoping that should be enough with the solar for our 3-7 day trips. Otherwise can’t decide on a 4th battery or just giving in and buying a small generator. Anyone have an idea of how quickly a 2000w generator will recharge 300 Ah of batteries? I’m...
Newest project is building a cover and windscreen for the stove. Ours didn’t come with #1 like the final model dead initially didn’t think it would be a big deal but can barely boil water in the wind currently.
Almost done just have to add the hinges and a strap to keep it all from rattling on...
I think for your purposes it’s not necessary although it would be nice. Our standard canvas in a Boreas is fine for shoulder season. The truma heater is whisper quiet though which is probably more important in my mind than the insulation because if you have canvas that heater is turning on...
Love the dresser idea. Yeah that extra cushion area doesn’t seem to get used much with us either. I’m interested to hear how you like it.
I don’t hate the clamshell. the person farthest from the door can’t sit up fully in bed but hasn’t been that big of a deal. Which fire pit is that? Been...
Our EOS 11.5
We’ve owned our Boreas for about a year now, and I found this site invaluable when we were trailer shopping over about 4 years. I’m starting this blog mostly for my own entertainment but will post it here to put a little more content about the camper here. I call ours the 11.5...
That’s pretty similar to what we have in my unit. We have a second leg to turn the table into a bed if necessary but rarely use it. Love having the additional space to get to and from the bed easily
Yep if I was in the market for a new off-road trailer this would be on top of the list with nothing else honestly even coming close. Made in USA, all composite, sleeps 4, ready to go for less than 50k?! They knocked it out of the park. Haven’t seen this in person but I’ve walked through their...
We have had success with the 3M adhesive that you use to attach hooks, for a few cargo nets in our EOS. More than enough to support some jackets and clothes . We might eventually screw/bolt them in but it’s been hassle free so far and we can move them if we don’t like the configuration down the...
Planning on a week long beach camping trip this December. EOS owners, how have you prepared your rigs for a campsite with no hookups? I’m thinking Home Depot bucket under the sink, but don’t know where I would empty it. Into shower drain is a possibility but will make the floor gross. Into the...
I only have 300W on the roof, but have minimal solar knowledge so might take it in to the shop and see what they think. It would be nice to have it come through the victron that way the amps would register on the smart shunt, etc. I imagine the zamp inputs could just be spliced in in parallel...
I’m tempted to re-route the zamp port to the charge controller. Looks pretty straightforward, but wondering if the factory doesn’t do this for a specific reason?
We also go with parking in the shade in the summer, we have two 100w portable solar panels but haven’t been out long enough to need them yet.
No rivets, sort of in the R&D phase right now, planning on using for light items. I didn’t want to rivet, I can see one of my kids grabbing and pulling...
