I'm new to this scene but the M1102 seemed very big when I considered it. I ended up getting an M416 which is perfect size for what I'm looking to do. It will carry all my gear in the bed and I'm putting a rack on it to hold kayaks or it could also hold a RTT.

My restoration plan is to treat everything with POR15 and then coat it with a bed liner. I guess with this extra protection I could get away without galvanized? But I just figured if I could get galvanized I'd be as protected as possible.
