    Skinny Guy Campers Armor

Yeah, by nearest competition, I just meant from the composite panel construction style. It looks like they changed some stuff up after the prototype. I attached their latest flyer, downloaded from their site (which I'm assuming is where you saw that). Upgraded solar to 600w (I assume the...

    Skinny Guy Campers Armor

Haha, I agree that this trailer is nowhere near overpriced. Just to compare Apples to Oranges here (so others don't get misled): (Not knocking Bushwackers whatsoever) - Bushwacker XLs are laminated construction with paneling, fiberglass, and styrofoam - They're typical RV construction for a...

Yeah, I saw that Bontrager Outdoors owns them both. They bought Braxton Creek last year. I bet they whip them into shape. One thing is for sure, the big Armor is nothing like the Bushwhackers. Lol.

I agree with you. I think it's very reasonable on price, especially for a trailer with zero wood, composite construction and built for off-roading. Their nearest competition is over $100k.... for the same size living space.

It looks like the first ones have officially hit the lots. It also looks like they made some slight changes from the prototype. The cabinets look much better. :)

Best trailer with 2 people and a dog?

Yeah, it's just up to the individual to make the decision on whether it's too tall or heavy for them. It's definitely not a small trail rig. It would be hard to beat 5640 gvwr on a single-axle independent suspension trailer. :) On a side note, you could always get a regular SGC for your...

Best trailer with 2 people and a dog?

It says 20' 9" overall, including spare tire on the rear. The roof rack protects the AC and solar panels. And it's 23" of ground clearance to the bottom of the frame (unless you're loaded down for bear). And that's true ground clearance... (no drop-down frame and tongue, like some). Yeah, most...

Best trailer with 2 people and a dog?

I would prefer it to be 12" shorter also. Still plenty of room to walk around and "full height" in my mind. But you can't make everyone happy all at once. :)

Best trailer with 2 people and a dog?

It sounds like the SGC Armor 15B checks all your boxes, except it's right at 10ft tall, since it's full height interior. Zero wood, zero framing/zero thermal bridge, composite panels, outside kitchen, independent suspension, Dometic or 12V AC, 4000 lbs. Check out the thread for it. :)

Best full-size 4 season composite trailer?

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they have other floorplans in the works also. :)

Best full-size 4 season composite trailer?

I haven't read the entire thread, but to add to your initial post request, a new one has entered the playing field. Check out the Armor from Skinny Guy Campers :)

    Skinny Guy Campers Armor

Yeah, it's the BAL setup. It's torsion technology, but independent, unlike a torsion axle. It's a respectable design and at least we know it's American made. :) I wouldn't be surprised to see more extreme suspension in the future. But even as-is, the ground clearance and functional rock sliders...

    Skinny Guy Campers Armor

Yeah, I'm excited to see where they go with this product line and future ones. :) Their MultiCamp is an XV-2 plus SGC package deal for those more hardcore trails :) I saw they were also highlighted on the latest XOverland podcast.

    Skinny Guy Campers Armor

Yup! The future looks exciting for them. :) I believe the dry weight is around 4k. Yeah, it's to the top of the roof rack, which is taller than the AC. Yeah, that one isn't intended to be a garagable unit. It's a full height interior to keep the wife and kiddos happy. Lol. I'm sure it's too long...

    Skinny Guy Campers Armor

Just wanted to pitch in. As I'm sure you saw in the attached brochure, it's American-made in Indiana. Zero wood, zero framing in the shell, composite panel construction with aluminum extrusions for the exoskeleton. Graeme recently wrote an article for it. :)...
