For the spare tire. I just made a triangle subframe and put a receiver tube as the top center piece. Then a spare tire mounting plate from ruff stuff. Slide it in and out easy. I built it like the AEV tire carrier for jeeps. I have a bolt on the back of the tube to help hold it in. Could...
h2 wheels are always a good option. probably harder to find now, vs back in the day. AEV wheels as well.
But as others suggested, the 3rd get 17s are a good option as well.
that squat is because of the angle of the driveway, not how it looks in normal gong down the road mode. I will say that I also have the fenders set up for about 1 inch of clearance at full stuff or so. No where near that in the pic.
But, yes I do have airbags as well, Carli bags to be specific.
Mine is literally a 7x8 rectangle.
just a bunch of 2.5 inch 120 wall tube.
I did do .25 wall for the tubes that attach to the frame.
Could of been totally flat, but wanted a lower bed so made mine with wheel well arches.
still a few more things to figure out, but became super...
@Longship I put receiver tube on the driver side of the bed sub frame to mount the hitch or what ever I want. The fancy hitch only gets used on long hauls and I wanted some place to store it, its to big to sit inside the cab. Having the hitch always with me was easier than storing it in th...
I ran the Wilco pre runner gate for years. Worked great, could re positing the spare inside the bed or behind depending on the need at the time. So overall no bed space was lost.
best pic I could find quickly
Switched to a flat bed, of my own design. Built a carrier onto the side of the...
that was my point, written a long way. They need to be serviced as well. Make sure if you can't do it yourself, you have people who can do it for you.
I think the new general mechanic may be lost with spindle and bearings. vs I just replace part A with part A, it's what the book says. With...
not that I am building an awesome camper like you all, so jealous...
But I went with fiberworx fenders on my dodge and skipped the whole add on fender that looks goofy. The carbon fiber on the black truck looks great with a semi transparent paint job as well...
Ive had the Dynatrac system on my 04 dodge for quite some time. I honestly forgot how it drove before at this point.
Not sure they cost of the kit amounts up to the fuel savings, maybe in another 10 years.
To me this mod is a feel good mod, vs super mod that saves money and drives so much...
buy the best winch you can afford, but they have gotten really expensive IMHO as of late but that is everything. 8K or larger... I think all my jeep winches are 9Ks, ha. They also only pull at rated strength near the last wrap of the rope. So most of the time doubt we are really using the...
nice stuff, I am thinking of the isolator for my dodge. Now that I know about them because of you. Mine sits more than is driven and isolation them has been on my list since I bought the truck new. Its time for new batteries again, so this may be on the list as well.
thanks
