Thought I would drop in here with an update... trailer is still going and is always under construction to try and make it better on our trips.
Thus far it has driven from Colorado to Maine, been dragged all over the north Maine woods, toured the NE, etc. No breakdowns or significant problems.
I would guess that you would be fine as long as you watch your burner flame diameter and don't let it get too close to the silicone/metal junction. I would imagine that this is the reason for the failures we are hearing about.
The soviet military was the one that used titanium shovels. If you google soviet titanium shovel, you should have no problem finding any size you want for under $100.
Still plugging along... water tank is installed and plumbed, outside sprayer works, outside kitchen is working. At the moment, I'm really just buttoning up the small stuff that seems to take way too much time and waiting for the folding faucet to arrive. Little trim pieces here, paint there...
We have running water. Tank will be installed tomorrow (hopefully), water lines need to be secured, and I need to decide where the outside sprayer is going to be mounted.
Hides nicely behind this panel so the space in front is still usable with the outside kitchen.
Operation junkyard was a success... found a 1 ton pickup that matched the trailer frame and was able to swap the springs.

Was able to take the trailer out for its first real test drive. Nothing fell apart and nobody died. There's definitely some body roll, but I...
Bittersweet day today in the camper build... was supposed to be heading out with the family for our first outing. I took the trailer out for its first test drive and immediately knew that the suspension was overloaded. Swayed like crazy and the leaf springs are just flat. Oh well, well have to...
Another big step today... trying to get things ready for our first family outing. It's always that last 2% of buttoning everything up that seems to take the longest.
Having built my share of tents I can tell you that buying tarps is going to cost you more than buying the correct fabrics and you will likely end up with an inferior end product. If you simply want waterproof and UV resistance, go with sunbrella, ottertex, or something like that. If you want...
Buy this, an AC charger for shore power, and some good batteries... that will solve 90% of your issues and leave you room to install solar.

Knocked out most of the wiring and charging today. Pretty psyched on the clean install of the anderson plug. Mounted one to the truck as well and will make a jumper between the two when I want to hook up the charging. This will make it so that I don't have a bunch of loose wiring to contend...
I bought one of these probably 8 years ago for $20. Price is up to $28 now. Dual 10k burners. Works great. I love the white gas stuff, but this thing just keeps working and takes up no space.

Slowly ticking boxes and getting things hooked up.
Propane mounts finished and the cabinet is finished. Only thing left to do here is run the lines.
Electrical cabinet layout is all set. All that is left here is to cut a bunch of cables and connect everything together. I decided to space...
