    Edgestar Fridge Modifications Thread

Oh I get that for sure. I call it the bic lighter syndrome. Of course it probably started with Gillette's 'new' disposable razors over a hundred years ago, he he.

    Edgestar Fridge Modifications Thread

And here's the thing. I am curious about these new brands as well. There's Costway and Smad popping up around. But are these going to be the next edgestar/whynter that last only a couple of years or need some tweaking to make work well after a couple years? I want to go one more time and be...

    Edgestar Fridge Modifications Thread

So, it seems as though the Edgestars are good for maybe two years or so, yes? Of course there are those who get the 'good' ones that last much longer, but . . . And that is how I bought mine just over two years ago. For less than $300 shipped. It lived on the back seat of my Jeep KJ all that...

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Hmm, bummer it's not as good a deal as we were getting from openboxdirect.com. $399 is just below the last full retail I saw for these at $459.

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

^^^ Ditto. Mine is about a year old now. I put it on the back seat of my KJ and it just lives there. Anytime I have a need to use it, I plug it in, and she works.

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Looks interesting, but cannot find any info on it from a Max Burton website. Looks almost similar to an ARB. One thing, most if not all either freeze or refrigerate so there is no seperate fridge and freezer compartments. Buy one and let us know how it works! Hehe. It certainly looks like a...

Oops, sorry about that. Kind of like the endless "which tire is best" debates, hehe. Not my intent.

    Yeti Lawsuit

I am not talking about a 12 volt 'cooler', but an actual fridge. I used mine on a trip with 100 deg days and reached in a pulled out a beer that was frozen. In fact, for the first three days, the frozen meat I had put in there at the beginning didn't hardly thaw at all. Had to set the thermo...

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Please don't take this as me flaming you, just as a helpful hint. this question will probably get much more result if asked in the general camping equipment section: http://forum.expeditionportal.com/forums/30-Camping-Equipment Again, I really am only trying to help. There was a thread a...

Who cares? Well, kidding sort of. My research took me to an actual fridge/freezer. Why spend near $400 for an ice chest when you can get a portable fridge for the same $$$? And sometimes less: http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/23350-Cheap-Fridge-lt-400-shipped After getting my...

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Well, I am back from a three week camping trip to Arizona. I bought a dented Edgestar FP430 for about $260 shipped. I don't have pictures, but there was about a two inch long and maybe half inch deep dent in the lower front of the unit. It also has a drain plug and as I posted the 12v plug...

    carrying coleman fuel

You do realize that dual fuel will run on regular unleaded gasoline, don't you? I have been carrying around the first can of coleman fuel I bought when I went dual fuel some 14 or so years ago. the unleaded nozzle as the gas pump just fits down inside so I can carefully refill it when needed...

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Initial review~sure, a novel I received my unit last Tuesday, June 21 just as I posted. Here in my tiny town, FedEx has gotten used to delivering my packages to work, works for me and them. The FedEx guy asked for a bit of help as this thing came in a very large box. I was a bit perplexed...

What is your favorite camping gear?

Let's see, don't know if it can be just five, but some have left out the essentials I think. 1. blanket/sleeping bag sometimes a cot. 2. Food and drinks. And an ice chest (now graduating to an S&D Edgestar fp430 I hope) to keep it good. 3. I have an 18" bar chainsaw, a maul to make the rounds...

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Yeah, for my FP430 I paid $258 instead of $449, a savings of 43%, almost half! For me $191 is/was way too big of a bullet to bite. More like made the difference between yes and no.

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

I was surprised there was more than one when I ordered mine and then posted the link. I had the same let down experience: order, confirmation, cancellation, last time I tried a couple months ago, so do not give up folks. Mine is due in today! Woot!

I didn't give enough details on my last post. Looks like openboxdirect.com still has another fp430 and a fp 630 in scratch and dent at this time: http://www.openboxdirect.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-HWS-Site/default/Search-ShowGrid?q=edgestar&start=20&sz=20 Do not waste any time if you ever...
