It feels so good to be back! New (to me) 4Runner!

Congrats on the new purchase and being back in a Toyota no less! You'll love the 4th gen. The 4.0L is a great motor and easily maintained. You will find a wealth of information at www.toyota120.com As for the VSC kicking in... get used to it. As I recall the "hack" for the V6 is fairly...

    FS: 2005 TOYOTA 4RUNNER 4X4

These are the wheels that I'll put on for who ever buys it.. "oh by the ways" Nothing comes to mind. With this front bumper you can see the washer fluid bottle on the passenger side... I've spray painted it black so you can see it as well. I have a 6 year old Border Collie that rides in...

08 fj cruiser - a-trac does what exactly?

You should be just fine... atrac (read brake system) only works when the system detects wheel spin. If there's no wheel spin then atrac does not engage. If you add a rear locker and engage it there will be no detectable wheels spin from driver side wheel to passenger side wheel and visa-versa...

08 fj cruiser - a-trac does what exactly?

Great link below: http://www.toyota120.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25&highlight=atrac In short, while in 4x4 Low Range, you can engage atrac and if/when you lift the front driver side tire or it looses traction, it will use the ABS to stop that wheel from spinning and transfer/focus the...

Time for a change... My wife doesnt love driving it and would rather drive a smaller wagon (subaru) Maybe take a little break from camping/offroading for a few years... we have little kids right now so offroading tends to be more work then fun these days. Geees, that's really sad that I just...

    4Runner Trail or SR5?

If the difference is really $5-7K I'd go with the SR5. Don't know what your plans are but for that sort of money you could lock the front & rear with ARB air lockers add OME suspension, sliders and a good A/T tire and you'll have a better rig imo SR5 for the win!

    First time 4Runner owner :)

My experience with a stock 4th gen is a 265/70R17 fits with almost no rubbing and the 275/70R17 will rub a little on the front wheels liner and UCA at full turn.

    Would you.....

V6 or V8? If it's a V8 plan on doing the timing belt if it hasn't been done. $800 ish. I've got 112,000 on my V6 4th gen. Runs perfect doesn't burn any oil and make a perfect DD for my wife and weekend warrior/camping rig for the fam. $9k sounds like a fair deal. That's about what they're...

    4th gen 4runner build capability?

I purchased my first 4th gen in 2008. Got the 04 V6. Then came sliders, 33" tires & OME lift. Very capable and overall enjoyed the day to day drive and offroad capability. Decided I wanted something a little more capable and trail worthy so I sold the 4th gen and got a '97 LandCruiser. Slee 4"...

Looking at a 4runner, Need Some Good Advice

I'm a car dealer and that is a far price if it's in good condition and drives nice. You'll find a lot more dealers going to set prices on their vehicles. With the Internet you have to put your best price out there just to get people to come look at your cars. Remember, if you want to sleep in...
