Well apparently my wife has been internalizing some anger issues that finally she was unable to hold back! Fortunately, I was not in her target area. However she took out a good size wild turkey one day with my Monty. I guess my joking comment about real guys use big guns was not taken well...
So the hitch will be here Thursday. Got it from Valley for $108 with free shipping. Had a $100 credit from paypal they gave me so the hitch cost me $8. So it still mounts below the bumper and not through the bumper? Was hoping it was through.
Thanks, no Montero's in our two junkyards. That part the 4 bolts the hitch mounts to come off or is it part of the frame? There is another Montero running around up here that has no hitch and no bolt holes just wondering how it assembles.
The photo idea was a good plan. I think I see the problem. There is no such thing as level up here and the truck is facing a bit uphill, but if you compare the slope of the hitch to the body line, the slope is more than on the body. What ever that hitch mounts to must be twisting under the...
Thank you. We are going to pull the hitch again hopefully and see if the vibrations and bouncing may be wearing on the inside of the tube. This does not seem like the stock hitch, so maybe it was one of those cheap ones?
I'm really getting frustrated. I have a 96 LS with a wheelchair carrier on the back. I use a power chair that weighs in around 350 pounds, First time we started using the carrier all was fine but after a couple days we noticed that the carrier was sitting lower. Looking at the plate the 2"...
I figured out what's different on pictures of the engine on other Montero's, Mines missing the Air Intake Cover on top of the engine. Besides cosmetic looks is this a needed item? Anyone got an extra?
Thanks
Thanks, had the Service Manual but not the ASA program. Very handy. Looks like the left front window regulators out. I've located a replacement but how do you get it out of the door? Manual's a bit sketchy on that.
Another update: Driver's side is " fixed " Nothing wrong with the regulator or motor. The plastic clips that hold to the bottom of the window glass were busted off allowing the window to slip all the way down and out of the channel. Handful of nylon zip ties fixed it right up. Works like a...
Thought I'd update: We squeezed some freon into the system, not sure how much but did not seem like much and the air at the vents is now at 35 degrees F. That's about a 40 degree difference from outside air temperature. Definitely feels colder than before the added freon. I'm glad since both...
No, unfortunately. :( I replaced the switch checked fuses and still no buzz. Fiddling around under the dash I found a set of wires ( 3 total ) that had been cut. The truck has an after market alarm system that I suspect was tied into the door switch. Unfortunately, the previous owner had...
Well it looks like both driver and passenger front windows need work. So be taking a trip to the local salvage yard. No garage and its monsoon season. Guess I'll pull parts first. Got caught in a nasty downpour while trying to pull the drivers side window up we had it sideways in the...
Sorry, thought had included the info in my sig. It is a 96 Montero SR. As for silicone the window moves pretty easy with very little effort. Still think it needs the silicone?
Looks like the previous owner used one of those vent holders on the center console vents for holding the cell phone and busted both sides. Anyone know where I can find a replacement? Also, passenger window goes down but needs help going up. Can hear the motor turning but the window does not...
