    Kakadu vs. 23Zero SWAGS?

Interesting. I was looking at the Kakadu version a while back, but the extra bulk was a turn off.

    Kakadu vs. 23Zero SWAGS?

Austrailian for Bivy essentially. They are a bit bigger so you have more room for boots and a small pack. Usually, they have mesh openings on the ends so you can get good ventilation in the rain as the fabric bellows out. They also can have mesh top sections as well for star gazing and...

    Kakadu vs. 23Zero SWAGS?

I'm debating getting a SWAG. How do the 23Zero and Kakadu SWAGS compare to each other? Is one better than the other? TIA, Sid

Rotopax 1-Gallon water containers under the seat is what you want.

    Prices vs Inflation

Not to derail and sidetrack this thread needlessly, a lot of younger people support initiatives they don't understand. I am fine with views that are in conflict with mine but, if you are going chant something like "Palestine will be free from the River to the Sea", you should understand what...

Better "Expedition or Overlanding" trailer manufacturers?

For me, it won't be cost-effective if I look at buying a better welder, cut-off saw, and all the other "manufacturing" stuff. Then add axles, suspension, steel, etc., and the time needed to do it that prevents some trips and general time-related impacts is a concern as well. I have seen...

Better "Expedition or Overlanding" trailer manufacturers?

I have been reading various threads in this forum and see many comments about "stick and staple" trailers and similar things which I suspect most of us seriously avoid. Looking at the opposite extreme, robustly built trailers are randomly mentioned in random threads. This has me wondering if...

    Prices vs Inflation

That is more about POLITICS IMHO and being a SIX-SECOND SOUND BITE for people without any basic business sense. ~4% profit on a carton of eggs or a loaf of bread is what it is. Several years later when the same company is selling 4 times as many eggs and loaves of bread at ~3% profit will have...

Looking for a small RV worthy of mild off-road travel

How do the Winnebago "Minnie" trailers hold up to this type of use? Are they constructed well to hold up over the long term with use on rougher rural roads, forestry service roads, and similar? In particular corrugated roads that test your dental work and heavily patched and pothole-filled...

    New RV Buyers watch out

Let's be honest here, how many people READ the contracts they sign? Of the few that actually READ them, do they understand what they read? Poor lady at the apartment office asked me what I was doing when she handed me the rental contract; I'm READING it! I've been here 3 years and you are the...

    Prices vs Inflation

Good point touching on my "dealer" comment. The Overland trailers I shop are manufacturer direct for me and they don't have the problems either of us has mentioned if they want my serious consideration. If they are padding the sales price for no reason other than greed and laziness, I move on.

    Prices vs Inflation

Compare an Apple to an Apple. Over time, some "base" trailers have added features and expenses that aren't shown with just a sticker price. Next is the cost of skilled labor. They go where they get paid best and have to earn more than the cost of living locally, whether that agrees with...

    Nut House Hickory or Peanut?

The Hickory has some great YouTube footage. Peanut YouTube stuff is ~5 years old and not very good video quality, at least the ones I viewed. Nut House phone support has been AWESOME so far, unlike Taxa with my Tigermoth. I was told a new build would deliver in ~Sept/Oct this year based on...

    Nut House Hickory or Peanut?

Looking at Expedition trailers, does anyone have experience with or own a Nut House Hickory or Peanut trailer? Most builds with normal "options" are ~$35K or more so, a lot more involved in terms of cost and timeline to save up for. And, build time would see me miss most of this year but, a...

Taxa Wooly Bear Overland Edition? Good for the price? General thoughts?

I did a bit of digging on the axles, apparently, the Lippert 2K axles they were using had low Quality Control and were dropped in favor of Dexter axles.

Taxa Wooly Bear Overland Edition? Good for the price? General thoughts?

Actually, East Texas is where I "launch" from. 🥳 Happy to be back in Texas personally. That Base X looks pretty good. Wish I could see one in person.

Taxa Wooly Bear Overland Edition? Good for the price? General thoughts?

Hmm, What makes the Cruise Master better than the Timbrens Axle-less suspension? Most of the trailers I looked at during the Expo events were Timbrens equipped. To be honest I don't recall a single Cruise Master equipped trailer.

Taxa Wooly Bear Overland Edition? Good for the price? General thoughts?

That Nut House Hickory looks really nice but, at $23,345, adding ~$3,000 for a tent rack and 5lb of propane, is pretty darn expensive.
