Went for a mountain drive yesterday to break in (or break off) everything not working on my 1991 4runner. Now, I have some questions:
-- Tooth-jarring shocks. How can I repair/replace to make them strong, yet comfortable, and what should I be looking for?
-- Best, in your opinion, heavy ply...
I could replace the door for $200 but then I'd need to repaint everything. The wrecker wants $650 for a door, which I'm not willing to pay, considering the truck cost $800 in the first place.

Figured I'd drop a quick intro. I'm a complete noob to the 4Runner and am not hugely mechanically skilled although I can learn, so bear with me! Very familiar with hunting, fishing, and camping, however, so I was looking to make that kind of life easier and finally found a '91 4Runner for $800...
