is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

While I'll agree with most of this, I'll staunchly disagree with the statement that these 1stGens aren't stellar in any one category. Their reliability and longevity are absolutely stellar. I hope everyone has a great weekend and gets to get out and enjoy their 1stGen.

is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

Looks like you'd be a great guy to talk to about the difference in size between the DC and AC. Did you find that there was a significant difference or was it really nothing? Nice rigs, by the way.

is the 1st gen tundra one of the best platforms

Have you ever driven a DC? A lot of people claim these first gens are 3/4 full size pickups. The DCs are very much a full size pickup. The regular and access cabs are much more deserving of the 3/4 full size claim. Maybe that's what you're looking for. I've got a DC and, here in the PNW...

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

This is a heck of a thread that's spanned years. I've started looking into this again and stumbled on the below linked kit. Looks, effectively, like the original system in the first post of this thread. Would love to hear people's opinion of it. Thanks...

2005 Tundra novice build - "The Rez"

Here's my understanding. Fans won't help if traveling at speed. They will only help when the vehicle is traveling slower than the volume of air the fan can move, ideal for stop and go traffic or rock crawling. A fan rotates at a specific RPM and moves air at a specific rate. If the rate of...

    A weekend in Central WA

Day 2 We got up, broke camp and headed down to top off with fuel, not that we needed it, and head back into nowhere. This day gave us much worse roads and was slower going. It was the last weekend of modern firearm elk season and there was a continuous number of hunters and camps that we...

    A weekend in Central WA

We got back in the trucks and headed to an area that had burned in the relatively recent past. I want to say it was 9 years ago but, I can't say I recall that for certain. The juxtaposition of the burnt and lifeless snags reaching the sky with the flourish of early life/growth close to the...

    A weekend in Central WA

I've got a couple of buddies that I've stayed in loose contact with since high school. The past few years we've made a point of actually getting together for a guy's weekend. This year we decided on an overlanding trip. Two of the five of us dropped out; three of us were enthusiastic to get...

To get Lockers or not in my JK Sport?

I'd agree with a lot of what people here have to say. I'd encourage you to lock the back, though. As for NEEDING lockers, it's a very subjective thing. Knowing how to drive and knowing your, and your rig's, limits are paramount. For all those that posted pictures of there rigs where their...
