6x12 cargo trailer lifted for off road, Jeep JKU approved?

Different tow vehicle but might have some solid feedback - currently building one myself. First off, my Tacoma is rated with tow package for 6400lbs on paper. I feel its at its max duty hauling my trailer. I gutted my 6x12 and insulated the walls with 1" rigid foam and expanding foam in the...

    2nd Generation Tacoma 4wd - Suspension Clearance?

I have a 2nd generation Tacoma as well. 265/70/R17 is the largest you can run on stock suspension. The 285/70R17 will require at least a 3" suspension lift to have enough clearance and not rub during turns or larger bumps. For reference, I have a dcsb tacoma with a 3" suspension lift and a...

thinking of adding a cap to 2nd gen DCSB

For what it's worth, I wish I had upgraded the side windows of my topper or at least one side to be a flip up window door. It would make packing and retrieving small items closest to the cab easier and you wouldn't need to crawl in.

thinking of adding a cap to 2nd gen DCSB

I run a SnugTop Rebel cap with their "sportsman" upgrade which they double layer the ceiling with a honeycomb layout along with Yakima rails layed in. Its supposedly rated to now hold 500lbs. I've read some people mounting their RTT with the reinforced ceiling and with out. If I recall it, to...

Any issue mounting radio mic/speaker on magnetic mounts?

Sounds good. I figure if I got any amount of doubt from somebody else too then I may as well find an alternative mount. No biggy, thanks tarditi.

Any issue mounting radio mic/speaker on magnetic mounts?

I was wondering if using a magnetic mount such as a "Nite Ize Steelie mount" will interrupt or have any negative affect with signal? I read a few Amazon reviews saying the magnet does interrupt the phones compass feature (iPhone 6) and inhibits the use of a stylus pen (Note phones) when having...

Preferred rear suspension? Do anything special for all that weight?

Looking for more input in regards to setting up the rear suspension for my Tacoma. I did a rough search here and TacomaWorld and I find myself with more concerns the more I read. Here on ExPo most rigs are set up with distance in mind. "Rough" roads as apposed to "crawling" trails. I just...

2nd Gen Tacoma iPhone 5S Mount

Very clever and thanks for the in-depth install! I'll probably use the same mount but for a Garmin GPS for a backup to my iPad mini/Bad Elf. Edit: Actually just clicked your link. Thats what I want. Ha!

Using a camp shower - rules/regulations for water usage or disposal?

Xterabl is right, I used the terms 'frowned upon', loosely because of the drought and wasn't implying anything illegal about washing cars. Given our current drought situation and CA's strict environmental standards I wouldn't see it out of the ordinary if somebody was fined for camp shower...

Using a camp shower - rules/regulations for water usage or disposal?

While reading another thread about what some users are using for standing on while using their camp showers, it got me wondering if there are any strict rules about where you can allow the water to "run-off"? When visiting NPs, developed camp grounds, primitive campgrounds and the middle of...

Question regarding ARB Tent SIII straps

Auh, I figured since it had dual loops on the free end it was used for some sort of aid. I didn't bother too much at the shop I knew all the important details which is all that mattered. Haha Thanks cruiser

Question regarding ARB Tent SIII straps

Been a member for 8 months now using this wonderful site for endless information and thanks to the "search" function haven't had the need to ask a question till now. I purchased an ARB Simpson III rtt and I can't quite find a place or function for two straps on the middle support hoop. Theres...
