    Tesla Cybertruck: The Future?

Being in the automotive business, I was on promotion tour for a new electric compact car and mid-size PHEV SUV. I drove the plug-in for about a week and a half, with 80% city driving in electric mode. The compact has a real world range of 180mls on a full battery, being able to charge from 0-80%...

Ford 7.3 Diesel, what to look for?

Plans changed quickly......... This one was too cheap to not buy it. 5.4, 8-seater passenger van with 120k mls for 2.500$. Pretty cheap for Germany. Still on US title, so some paperwork and safety inspections to be done. Picking her up next week.

Ford 7.3 Diesel, what to look for?

I managed to inspect the Ambo today. Long story short, this particular one is NOT the one for me. While it may be a good starting point for someone with more time than I have on my hands, it's too much work involved for me. Off to the search for the next one. Thank you guys very much for the...

Ford 7.3 Diesel, what to look for?

Thanks so far! Good point on the oil pan. Only had one oil pan rusting to the point of no return and that was on my daughters Fiat.

Ford 7.3 Diesel, what to look for?

As for parts, looks like Rockauto and others still offer all kinds of parts and seals for those 7.3s

Ford 7.3 Diesel, what to look for?

Sold my E250 van last year and the wife is begging since to get a new bug out vehicle. So I have the chance to get my hands on a '94 E350 SRW mini-mod ex-Ambulance with a non-turbo 7.3 with less then 150k mls. Being a 180hp 7.3, this should be the old IDI, right? Anything specific to look for? I...

Call me crazy, but I want a shuttle bus.

I just got my wife to the point where she's trying to convince me to get an old school bus as our next camping vehicle :sombrero:

How Does Ignition Work For A Mechanically Injected Diesel?

If you don't get any diesel fuel anymore, use veggie oil. Works with only little modifications (i.e. larger diameter fuel lines and a fuel heater for cold weather applications).

Little mods/upgrades/additions that make a big difference

The good thing with Brodit is, they have mounts for nearly every device on the market. I used this one to mount the tablet:

Go Pro mounts for GPS and iPad

And I thought I was genius when I started using GoPro mounts in my vehicles  I have adhesive base plates in both my vehicles (E250 and Xterra) and an aftermarket tripod mount fitting the GoPro system bolted to my Brodit tablet holder. Actual reason for that was, that I'm too cheap to...

    2001 Xterra 2wd wheeling

Welcome! I also have a 2001 V6 Xterra as daily driver, but 4WD. Mine must be one of less than 5 ever exported to Germany. The conversion from 2WD to 4WD is rather simple since they both share the same platform and running gear, minus the transfer case and front drive axle in the 2WD. Easiest...

Little mods/upgrades/additions that make a big difference

Well, there's no real wiring diagram. It's just the 35mm² coming from the connector to the positive and negative terminals and from there it's 10mm² positive and negative from the battery to the marine fuse box terminals. From there it's 1.5 and 2.5mm² to the 12V and USB terminals. Pretty...

Little mods/upgrades/additions that make a big difference

I'm cheap, so are my mods :sombrero: First was the addition of the usual USB and 12V power outlet to the doghouse of my van. I used AMP superseal connector to be able to take off the doghouse if needed. Next was the tablet mount. I'm a big fan of Brodit mounts, but didn't want to buy 2 tablet...

    Abenteuer & Allrad 2016

It was way more crowded on the campsite than I've ever seen before :Wow1: They even camped in the middle of the woods. As usually, it rained and getting off the campground got interesting :snorkel: I only made it with the help of a few guys pushing my van (2WD, AT tires, rear LSD). The expo...

Thoughts on Ram ProMaster FWD Vans?

Having driven many miles in different years Fiat Ducatos (that's what the RAM ProMaster is), I don't even want to come closer than 100ft to one. They're loud, rattling, have horrendous bump steer from the front wheel drive when you hit the gas, even with the 180hp diesel we get as the max engine...
