Took the truck down for a 6 day Baja trip. 1400 miles or which half were offroad. If you've ever been to Baja you know how hard the trails are on a rig. Truck performed amazingly well. I have some updates on the mods but until then thought you guys would enjoy this little video.
Yes, @expeditionxoffroad
This is probably the best I have. Plenty of ground clearance. Only loose 1” and the Superduty’s sit so high to begin with it’s not really noticeable.

Didn't ditch it...I still use it. In fact, used it for our New Years trip where we camped outside mammoth in the single digits. What I really love about it, is how easy it is to pull off and put on. The truck gets used for a lot of different purposes so the flexibility is awesome.
I'm...
Yessir...been meaning to update the thread.
After doing a lot of long distance towing from the Bay Area down to Baja, down the 395, Arizona etc and I started to want a larger fuel tank. Normally you figure 34 gallons is enough but when you're getting 11MPG towing the range takes a hit. Also...
Kind of looks like it haha. We do offroad tours down in Baja. F250 does chase duty for the group on the Raptor runs. I tow it down for the runs since I have to bring the whole setup.
Good question! I'm not sure, Raptor rides smoother and more comfortable on and offroad. Not to say the 250...
Thanks for the kind words!
It's a paid tour. We've been doing them for Raptors down to Baja for 6 years or so and are now doing Overland trips as well. We love to sharing Baja so much it kind of took on a life of it's own lol.
Forgot to update this...
Went ahead and threw on 38" Falken MT's. They are actaully closer to a 39 spec wise at 38.7" tall which is 1/10th taller than BFG 39's. What's amazing is they fit with only the 2.5" lift from the Icon kit. I did have to trim a little bit of the inner fender and push a...
Might want to consider a Gen1 Raptor. Comes setup with pretty much everything you need. If you're going to be carrying heavy loads just get some progressive Icon springs. You can adjust ride height etc. MPG ain't great but you can get them for high 20's to mid 30's. The 6.2 is pretty bullet...
Nice! Truck looks great. The gasser is probably better suited for an adventure rig anyway. The diesel is great for towing but weighs a lot more which effects offroad performance.
We eventually made our way to the highway and made the turn of to Bahia de Los Angeles. Once we reached town we scarfed down as many tacos as our tummies could hold haha. We then made our way north of town to setup camp. Man the evenings views did not disappoint!
Day 4 coming soon!
We began working our way up into the mountains. The views were pretty amazing as we slinked our way through the switchbacks. One of the really cool things about Baja is how the terrain changes in such a short distance.
We woke up around 7am...well some of the group began filtering out of their tents. Many of us had been woken up a few times in the early morning be coyotes which sounded pretty darn close to camp a few times. Some of the group prepared an elaborate breakfast with eggs, bacon, and such. Other...
We rolled into Catavina to throw 5 gallons of gas into most of the rigs. Locals sell gas out of 55 gallon drums on the side of the road here since there is no gas station. Well, there is a gas station built with pumps but has not been finished. Every time we are there they tell us it will be...
Day 2 started with a relaxing morning at the Old Mill. Victor (who's an avid fisher) woke up early and nabbed a couple fish before breakfast. The mornings there always seem to be so relaxing...light mist in the air and right by the bay. Forgot to get some pics that morning so these from the...
We began moving again...weaving our way down the Pacific coast.
As we neared San Quintín we were treated to some beach cruising as the sun began it's sunset...simply amazing views.
As we hit the final stretch of the trail we came upon some pretty legit silt beds. This is part of this...
Day 1:
Our trip started on the outskirts of San Diego early Thursday morning. Our destination for the day was the Old Mill in San Quintín so we wanted to get an early start. The day began with introductions as there were many first timers. A quick drivers meeting to go over trail & radio...
