The Victron Orion DC/DC runs hot. Make sure you can mount it in a location with plenty of air flow. My 30 amp tends to derate frequently and at lower than expected temperatures. I have verified that it is operating as expected /designed. It's just not as efficient as the rest of the victron...
Re old vehicles...
I've done this a few times with old vehicles. It starts to get really annoying constantly dealing with stuff that is broken. I've have lots of other things in my life I'd rather deal with - and when given a choice between modd'ing for going camping/overlanding and dealing...
Durattacs for snow (lots of it). Crappy and noisy at 50%. Hard to balance.
Toyo III or Falkens for everything else.

Lightly used Kingdom 6 REI Tent with Tech Garage & Footprint. Really liked this tent - but it was too big for our needs. The tech garage is great as is allows you a place to take off shoes, hang out outside (but under an awning), escape the rain, etc.
Used only a few of times and...
Love this thing - but our needs changed relatively soon after we purchased it. This is the dual zone unit that can be combined into a single zone by removing the spacer.
It has only been using about a dozen times since purchase...some minor scuffs, but works really well. Draws amazingly...
I have both single and dual band radios (multiple of each).
Pretty simple:

Cross band repeater, APRS, monitoring 70cm and 2Mhz at the...
It's all about comfort level....the dude wants A/C for his dogs...and he is going to be laying down huge miles... and driving across country...and wants to be able to get up and drive w/o going outside... that's a van all day long.
An overbuilt 4x rig sounds awesome, but doesn't fit his 99% use...
This is easy - van. Sprinter 144 diesel. Lifted and all kitted out. Massive range with aftermarket tanks, plenty of power to run A/C if you fit a big battery bank. Diesel is plentiful.
I have a lifted 144 with a pop top. My mpg is 14-17.5 depending on speed and head wind. It is an all weather...
I have an 07 with the teraflex carrier. Spare + Titan 11-13 gallon fuel tank + Trasharoo (with about 20# of gear). The tank has been run full for many many miles on and off pavement. The body flexes/sags when the tank is full. I'd not waste my money on it again. Morryde with tire...
Just to update this thread... I dropped them an email and also called there customer support line. Never received any response. I had them install a top on my Sprinter van in about 2016. Maybe it was 2017... Anyway it doesn't matter...there were only two options when I decided to get a pop...
Hmmm..not sure where ya got that conclusion from. NOOX is most certainly conductive...been using various types for years. Google is your friend.
