I work from home so on road performance isn't a huge priority but I do plan to run them all year round. Being in Seattle means plenty of rain/ice and 1 or 2 days a year or snow. I will have them siped...
Yes all LR3's will show the lock on the screen even if they don't have the diff. I made the sales man drive mine on the test track to confirm it went to lock. I also crawled under and visually saw the lock cylinder.
Do you have the full size spare. Isn't 100% confirmation as you could order...

Overthinking it. Set the pressure to OEM specs on the door, put it in Snow mode and keep your speed down. Be smooth - only 1 action at a time - if you are braking don't turn and if you are turning don't brake. And if you start to slide don't jump on the brakes or make sudden movements.
I can reiterate this point. I spent a day with a guy from Special Vehicles (been around since the series I) and he said Land Rover has never been in a better position now that they are under Tata - and he really meant it. I have complete confidence they won't screw this one up.... My D3 is up...
