    Snow Peak Addiction

Yup, it's pretty pricey right now, but I will find a chance to go try it out this fall for a weekend. It might be worth the extra cost for my wife to be able to enjoy a nice sauna, soak, and shower. It's unclear to me what the sites are like, too. It seems to be only field tent camping or...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Unlimited - fully built for off-road expeditions

Thank you. While my Jeep has the ExtremeAire system, my Sportsmobile has an ARB air compressor and the same size tank. The ARB seems to work better to me, but it's a close call. Both rigs have 35" X 12.5" tires and the 2.5 gal tanks do fine for refilling the tires to ~40 lbs after being aired...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Unlimited - fully built for off-road expeditions

Still available and even better! I had a small leak in the radiator and not wanting to pass along a problem I replaced the radiator and fan shield. In the process I also found a leak in the water pump and replaced that as well. Both the water pump and radiator now have lifetime replacement...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Unlimited - fully built for off-road expeditions

Headed out for a weekend of fun, fully loaded with gear, two adults, and one child I've weighed it at ~6,400 lbs at weigh stations. I've weighed it a few times and that seems to be a pretty consistent weight.

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Unlimited - fully built for off-road expeditions

Just a few more pics.... . One option... remove the back seat and you can have this setup: I never use the room under the RTT, but you can see it in this picture.

    Upgraded Alternator?

I know I am digging up a six year old thread, but I want to ask a related issue. Like the OP I have a 6.0 PSD Ford van. This van has a 220A upgraded alternator, two 74 Ah (the 20hr Ah rating) starter batteries, and an automatically isolated 245 Ah house battery - total 393 Ah, well within the...

    UJOR Build Thread

Chris, I've got some big brake questions for you. I love my '06 E350 U-Joint build, but stopping is not one of its strengths. I am having trouble finding options for a brake upgrade as U-Joint, SMB, and Quigley all use different front ends! So I've got a '99-'04 F250 Super Duty front axle...

    UJOR Build Thread

U-Joint build in the wild! Chris, I was on vacation with my family in our U-Joint van in Olympic National Park when we came across this guy in his U-Joint RV. We actually ran into him twice in parking lots. It was neat to compare notes and look at each other's rigs. We both agreed that you...

U.S. alternative to Seitz top hinged windows

I have a van that needs a good window, but I hadn't really had a chance to research it. I just came back from the Northwest Overland Rally though and Tern Overland was there with their product. I was VERY impressed with the quality. I played with the windows quite a bit and everything worked...

    UJOR Build Thread

The weather in the Pacific Northwest has gotten nicer, so I got my family out this last weekend in our U-Joint built Ford E350 6.0L van. My wife absolutely loves it compared to our old Jeep LJ overland rig. I thought I'd pop into Expo Portal though and give some props to Chris at U-Joint. He...
