Lifted AWD camper van that’s built out with flexibility in mind. Seats 5 and sleeps 2, or pull the bench seat and haul cargo. Rare to find this vehicle in such good condition and under 175k miles…I’m the 2nd owner. Ideal for a couple or small family, this used to be our rig for climbing/ski/mtb roadtrips, beach days, moving furniture and lumberyard runs…with a growing family it’s time to sell.
The Rundown
- Location: Ventura, CA
- Price: $9,250
- 2000 Chevy Astro AWD
- 172,2XX miles on Vortec 4.3L V6, automatic transmission with no issues
- Always regularly maintained (oil changes every 3k, all regular/suggested maintenance completed), clean title, registration up to date, always passes smog first try w/ current certificate in hand. I’m the 2nd owner, previously was a passenger van for Sacramento Municipal Utility District (fleet maintained).
- Seats 5 people total, removable 3 person bench seat in rear
- 2” Lift kit + Rancho shocks + larger all terrain tires (lift kit can be adjusted higher/lower to accommodate different tire sizes) - it’s solid in snow and on dirt roads
- Custom camper setup built in rear (steel frame w/ baltic birth plywood). Designed to quickly convert to carry cargo or have a 4’x6’ bed. Permanent driver-side cabinet with upper and lower storage, bed panels can be slid into place or stowed vertically with thumb screws. Bench seat folds flat to meet the bed panels and forms the full bed. This allows you to keep the bench seat in to transport 3 additional passengers but then fold it down to sleep 2 people inside. Remove the bench seat and you can move a couch or a cord of firewood. I used to work for a van builder and fabricator so everything is professional grade.
- Small auxiliary battery system (charged by alternator) with new 60ah AGM battery for cabin lights, tailgate lights and usb charging station.
- Windows in slider door and behind drivers seat are openable for ventilation
- Stereo with Bluetooth and Aux hookups
- Trailer hitch (2”)
- Interior is really clean for a 20+ year old vehicle
- Tires still have some life on them, but ready to be replaced soon
- Dash lights for ABS and parking brake occasionally come on (typical old chevy issue). There are a couple electrical parts that need to be changed out, shop estimated the repair at $250 but I haven’t gotten around to it.
- Stereo sometimes takes awhile to turn on when it’s cold
- Rear doors won’t hold open on an incline (I use a piece of wood)
- There are some small tears in the vinyl on the front armrests
- These issues are all accounted for in the final asking price.
