10 x 12 Tarp Mod

If Mosquitos and other bugs are taking the fun out of camping you can modify your tarp by doing this. Take 1” Velcro hook side and sew it to the bottom side of a tarp. Then sew the 1” loop side of the Velcro to the top edge of a $75 Gazebo mosquito net.

I like this idea but instead of sewing what about double sided tape (3M and the like) to attach the Velcro- both to the tarp and the mosquito netting? Seems like for the tarp anyway better as no holes from sewing (and easier!)

I thought of that but when the sun heats up the tarp the tape glue may not hold?
I am going to spray Kiwi Camp Dry Heavy Duty Water Repellent on the stitching and if it leaks it is on the edge of the tarp and not in the middle.

You might check the 3M tape - some of the adhesives are pretty strong, but I get your point 100%. I don't know enough to say whether it would or wouldn't hold so I should probably sthu. :)

See new pictures with the tarp up at camp site in Payson Campground in AZ.

Update: After two days of camping with some rain the tarp worked great. Kept bugs and mosquitos out. Some water came through at the stitching but not enough to worry about. The netting got more wet from the rain blowing on it then any seepage through the stitching. I did adjust the poles so the water rain off the trap rather than puddle.
