100 series roof rack/lift on AHC lexus questions

I am looking at some 100s here in the southwest...have found a couple similar...one with what appears to be factory racks and one without...
Is either better or worse for mounting more durable racks like a front runner etc...It appears no rain gutters on the 100s and I am just wondering if the "smooth" roofline would be better for aftermarket racks...
Thanks
Matt

Rack or no rack... makes no difference. The stock rack will be removed. Under the trim pieces are several pairs of mounting holes (threaded). These are the mounts used by the type of aftermarket racks you are considering.

Are those mounting holes present in the roofs of the trucks with no factory racks or do you have to drill?

You should take a look at the African Outback rack I have on the 100...likely one of the best designs I've seen in a long time...sturdy is an understatement.

I now GOBi has an 80/ 100 series rack that was just completed as well (within the last 2 months). ...although I'm not sure the owner is a member over here. I think he's a member on Mud though.

The mounts under the trim panel is how that rack mounts up. I have only seen the rack once while in development, so I don't have any pics.
..not up on GOBi's site yet either (just checked).

I emailed them for pics though.

Seems LX470s are much more plentiful here in AZ, NM, CA...and since they all have the Active Height Control...is this a PITA when installing a new suspension?...

Slee has a 'AHC Override' that basically locks the system into the high height, allowing for larger tires, etc. Option#2 is to remove the AHC system all together, its a chore but 100% doable. You'll be left with a light on the dash (which can be disabled) and the switch on the console (which can be retrofitted with something else).
