12 volt hack?

Is there an easy hack or way to make my rear 12 volt outlet powered full time? I've got a 2007 Hundy.

There was an easy way to do it on the early model years, but the fuse layout changed. It's technically possible on an 07 but not advisable.

I dont know what a "Toyota Hundy" is or its market area.
Anyway, Typical of that era Toyota 12v aux receptacle is, its controlled by a relay in the underhood fusebox. This relay is switched on/off by the ign. key. Its contacts take 12v from the unswitched buss (thru a fuse of course)

One can unplug the relay & fit a jumper in place of the relay contacts.
Its easy to do & easy to restore back to normal.

I did a variation of this on my Hilux. Left that relay alone & I installed a 18Ah AGM battery connected to the aux. receptacle circuit.
When the truck is "on" the aux circuit is live and also charges the aux battery. When the truck is "off", the aux circuit is still live but being powered from the aux battery.

"Hundy" is referring to a 100-series land cruiser. On the early model year 100-series, you could do exactly what you're describing. However, on later model years, the relay was moved from the fusebox under the hood to the LH cowl junction box. It's a pain to get to and personally, I wouldn't want to start messing with fuses/jumpers in that location. I think you're better off running a dedicated circuit.

Thanks for the info guys! I mainly wanted to run my fridge off the outlet in the back. I talked to someone from SLEE and he advised against it because the internal wiring couldn't handle the amperage needed to run the fridge. I'm going to hold off and not rush things. Looks like I'm going old school and going to be using a cooler and ice.
