1961 Apache Chief, tent trailer. Extremely light weight at 350lbs empty weight, so most any vehicle with a trailer hitch can tow it. The box is all aluminum and measures 4' x 7' it's divided into four compartments to store your gear. When the tent is out it makes a two person bed on top of the trailer and a 7' x 7' tent on the ground. It easily sleeps 5 people. The canvas and paint on the trailer are orginal and in very good condition. We love this trailer but we are looking to buy a RV so it's got to go. Use it as is or modify it into an Expedition Trailer. We tow it with our Jeep and haul 2 kayaks on top of it. It a perfect base camp.

Located near Pittsburgh, PA.

New Price $1000 firm must sell by 15 May.

Would you be willing to post up more photos of the tent? Fully opened, interior, storage, etc? Would greatly appreciate it.

You can fit quite a bit of cargo in the trailer. I just carpeted the inside of my compartments the other day.

Here are the pictures of my Chief up (first time this year) This trailer is all original canvas and paint. The axle was replaced at some point with a heavier one. I repacked the bearings and installed new (made in USA) tires and wheels last year. It's ready to go camp.

I am very tempted, just looking at getting a few things figured out before I decide to pull the trigger. Out of curiousity, how easy/difficult is it to setup? We are looking at driving from VA to our cabin in southern UT this September, and this would be a perfect setup for the cross-country trek.

If you click on the link to the owners manual I posted above it should show how to set it up, there are also great pictures via Google images.

It can be set up in under 10 minutes easy enough. I'm sure I will kick my self for selling it. I love this little trailer but I can't justify having 3 campers. We want to see someone enjoying it as we do. There is a big Jeep Festival is coming up next month, if I don't sell it before the show I will be taking it up there and camping in it. My orginal plan was to turn it into a modular camper, shifting between my car trailer and something like cobound's heilite:

Here's the Chief, with two 10 foot kayaks on top of the winter cover. I haul them like this all summer (strapped down of course lol) I had 5 of them on it for winter storage.
