Anybody else watching this one? Or maybe bidding? It's at $52500 as of this writing and the auction runs until December 11, 2011. It would probably be a lot more fun to have this LR than watching my 401K savings account molder away like it has the last few years...

It genuinely costs this much to do this sort of resto, if you have to pay someone to do it for you. Good luck to Lanny. It's cool that the car has been to these exotic places, but that doesn't make the new owner cool. Similar to " What is number of your NAS D90?" Lame..... Create your own worth. Just my 2 cents ;)

Love that Rover. The one last year was great too. But I too would rather by Mercedesrover's 109.

Orvis also has a sweet Airstream that they had restored for auction this year and they're selling Steve McQueen's dream setup Triumphs for $25k.

Way to step up to the plate Orvis.

I wish they'd sell Perk Perkins' (the CEO) CJ5 from "Around the World in a Jeep". Love that story.

Lanny Clark does some of the finest rover restorations out there. I could imagine this truck is FAR nicer than the day it rolled of the assembly line.
