1985 FJ60--Accelerator problems under hood--help!

I took my FJ60 out today, and the accelator bar connecting from firewall to carburator keeps coming out. Very dangerous, because I loose the gas paddle when this happens. Can someone help please. Thanks, Holmes

Is it a ball and socket that comes apart, a cable or a pivot point? Then replace if it is worn. I wouldn't crimp it as it might gets stuck.

I had to use bailing wire on an old Jeep's throttle to get home when that happened in the desert.
