1986 Toyota Bandit
Small truck RV similar to Chinook, Sunrader, or Mirage. Runs great, always starts, has been completely gutted and refurbished over the last year. Just unfortunately turned out to be too small for our needs. Gets reasonable gas mileage in the low 20's.
Bought it with the intention of using it as-is, but found widespread water damage on the inside after pulling out the carpet. Completely gutted the interior down to the fiberglass shell and built custom interior panels with marine grade plywood. Re-wired the cabin and insulated with spray foam/fiberglass before installing panels. Have electrical schematics documented. Removed all windows and re-sealed. Flooring was replaced with vinyl plank in the rear and new vinyl in the front (was carpet). Seats are leather full power adjustable from a 2008 VW Passat, they have heaters but are not hooked up.
Specs:
92,000 miles
22re engine (fuel injected)
Automatic transmission (4 speed)
Cruise control, A/C, CD player with auxiliary input, 6 new speakers
Optima cabin battery, charges from engine battery (isolated to prevent draining main battery) or external plugin power
Power inverter to supply 120V
Propane furnace with tank under truck and rear filling point
SOLID fabricated 2" hitch (you can lift the entire back end with a jack)
Replaced all interior lights with LEDs
Couch that folds into a queen size bed and has 2 seat belts
Painted "Chicago Cubs" blue
New brake lines
Canvas is in great shape, no tears or discolorations
New maintenance parts in the last year: spark plugs, wires, PCV valve, distributor, cabin battery, wheel bearings, brakes, fuel filler nozzle
Extras included: 12V/120V fridge, propane stove, water tank, alternator, belts, brake pads/rotors, aftermarket tachometer/ammeter/voltmeter/oil pressure gauges, back up camera
It originally had a large counter with stove/sink/fridge. We did not re-install these, layout will be up to the future owner. In process and original pictures shown at the end.
Needs nothing to be used as-is (made a 900 mile round trip to Traverse City, MI a couple weeks ago), but it is a 32 year old vehicle so there are a few items to keep an eye on:
-A/C appears to need a recharge, was updated in 2005 to R12a
-Muffler seemed a bit noisy on the way back, looking into a new exhaust
-There is some light rust (thanks Midwest winters). The front fenders and hood have a bit on the inside small dent in the hood and the passenger fender. I was planning on replacing them because replacements are so cheap for these trucks. The frame is remarkably clean but has light surface rust and has some older undercoating that is peeling off. I've been knocking the loose pieces off and respraying.
Located in Milwaukee, Wi. Will work with the buyer for a fly and drive or delivery possible (always looking for an excuse for a road trip...). No idea how to price this as finding comparables is hard... I've seen old ratty ones for $4k and saw one on ebay last year sell for $24k. I'm open to offers, just be reasonable please.
