First thing to mention is it possibly has a head gasket going out but i'm not positive. It runs fine i have just noticed some combustion soot in the coolant .Edmunds import auto should be able to repair if its indeed bad. Or you can swap a 22re back into it. its a very clean 1986 toyota custom cab with a 2lte 2.4l turbo diesel engine. i have a binder full of all the work that has been done on it and i keep pretty good records of the work i personally have done to it, with receipts. here is some of the details
-engine bought from an import shop in california with 60,000km so about 40,000 miles. Came out of a newer hilux. Real easy swap all stock motor mounts. Just had to change bell housing to keep the original transmission. Its about the same power as the 22re but more torque and better fuel economy.
-marlin crawler short shifter on the r151 transmission new bushings on both shifters
-optima red top battery
-on board air compressor, with about a 6 gallon air tank
-trail gear front, rear bumpers, and sliders. 8000lbs warn winch with synthetic rope.
-2" ball joint spacers(new ball joints, and tie rod ends when installed)
-add a leaf in the rear with air bags
-custom drawer setup in the bed (lots of storage)
-touch screen dvd radio with blue tooth and back up camera
-cross bars on topper
-bucket seats in the front with a 4 runner center console that has a heater inside.
-31x10.5-15 bfg km2 mud terrains on aluminum toyota wheels
-has cb radio with weather channel
-12v to 120v power inverter
- electric cooling fans on thermostat switch
-trd rear axle from a 1998 tacoma
-aux fuel tank that auto feeds into the main tank makes it have about a 28 gal of total volume. She gets about 20mpg avg.
-snorkel
