Hello everyone I purchased a gen 1 Montero back in August of '23 that I daily drive and I wanted to start this thread to document the things I've done since owning it. Like any other 30 year old vehicle it needed some TLC but it has been really taken care of before I purchased it. Here is the picture when I brought it home.

I've serviced a lot of small things that have been neglected over the years.
  • Found replacement emblems for front fenders
  • Got wipers and sprayers (front and back) working
  • Converted AC to R134
  • Added a trailer harness
  • Added window tent to help with the Texas heat
  • Completely rebuilt the front end suspension.

I didn't take a lot of pictures but I will start. I plan on doing a complete top end rebuild and reseal because its starting to smoke a little and I suspect the valve stem seals are giving up. Illl post what I have for now.

Some before and after of the front suspension. The steering wheel had a nasty vibration that I traced back to a bad Idler arm. All parts that could get replaced did along with bushings and anything I couldn't replace got serviced and painted. Next up is new wheels and tires. I plan on running 16" wheels but I'm undecided on tire size still.

were these available with cruise control? I'm considering one for a daily/road tripper but i'd need CC to road trip it.
