Selling our 1989 RHD diesel Land Cruiser. When we bought it, we were told it was an FJ62 but by looks of the VIN and Model #, it appears to be an HJ.
Vehicle Specifics:
- 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser
- Vin #: HJ60051309
- Model #: N-HJ60V-MNMZ
- Right hand drive
- JDM import, but we did not manage/facilitate the import. Has a clean title.
Body:
- Safari top roof (not the flat style)
- Paint color is an electric blue, but I don't think that was the original color. I think it was more of a darker blue. We had the truck wrapped in an ivory cream vinyl.
- The body is in pretty good shape given the age of it. For a 1989, it's in much better shape than I would have imagined. The left rear door has signs of light rust on the bottom and my guess is water is getting in through a seal and not escaping through the built in weep holes.
- One of the bumper end caps on the front just cracked off this week, ironically. The rear bumper end caps are still supposedly in transit but we ordered them a while back and are waiting for them to arrive.
- The front bumper had a winch and giant bull bar on it originally. It was also extended out. We asked the shop we bought it from to remove that bumper and replace it with an OEM bumper. They said they had a hard time finding one, so they removed the bull bar, winch, and just mounted the bumper back to the frame without the extensions.
Interior:
- Our plans were to completely overhaul the interior. As seen in the pictures, we have two brand new black leather Corbeau seats in the front, a new steering wheel, new shift knob, a brand new Kenwood DMX4707S with Apple CarPlay and Kenwood speakers in the front and rear.
- Carpets, rear seat covers and headliner could use an update. I have quotes to replace all of that (materials ~$1,300) and the plan was to do it ourselves, but we decided to just sell at this point.
Engine:
- 2H Diesel (non Turbo)
- New drive shaft
- A/C was just converted last month to R134A
- The fuel/air mixture is running a bit rich, so it's pumping out more fumes than we'd like. I just need to get under the hood and adjust it down. As a result, it's dirtied up the rear of the vehicle. When we finally sell this truck, we'll get the exterior detailed.
