1990 HZJ73 with ALL options - SOLD

I have a 1990 HZJ73 from NZ for sale at a screaming deal! only 85,000 original miles on the truck. This is what they called the Mid-wheel base 70 series, like the BJ44/46 to the 40/42.

It has a bull bar with FACTORY elec. winch, Factory Elec. Locking Diffs! Removable hard top, 1HZ 6 cylinder 4.2L diesel engine, 5 speed manual transmission, A/C, PS, Snorkle, Aux lights and mint interior!

Price: $18,000 US delivered. I can assist with your titleing the truck (if I title here in Breck - no inspection for first year).

I hear that on the lotto!... Are you sure they are e-lockers? I have seen a ton of these trucks and all the 80s and up to 91 that I have seen double locked use the toyota cable locker system... I am sure you know what your truck has, I am just curious if they even offered the e-lock that long ago!:sombrero:

IFAIK, No cable lockers after 1989.

Keep in mind the truck is a JDM rig so it came with stuff earlier than other markets. It makes sense if you keep in mind that the 1991 80 series rigs came with E-lockers and toytoa put that technology in a year earlier for the 70 series. The switch is the same rotary switch as the 80 series too.

I am interested in how are you able to import and register a JDM vehicle that is not 25 years old and therefore not exempt from DOT standards? I would love to sell my Pajero and FG to someone in the US.

He can't unless :

a) he is registering it as a gray market vehicle in which case buyer beware.

b) he is registering it as a off road vehicle only

c) he is swapping VIN tags from a US cruiser onto that one and faking the reg's

I've been over this with three different registered importers and the response was very clear : you cannot unless 25 yrs or older.

I will answer the question. I orginally put the method in the original post but it was deleted/edited by the moderators due to the nature of the conversation. The truck is gray market. I can explain in more details off of the board. please PM if interested.
