Looking to *maybe* sell my Defender to get a larger camper van. $35K OBO. I love this car a lot. It's goofy, it's old, it's a bit rough, and it's not too fast, but it gets you where you need to go and it does so in style. Everyone loves to point and it's always a conversation starter.
It's a 1990 Land Rover Santana Defender 90. Santanas are spanish built LRs, under contract with Land Rover. It's still effectively a land rover, just made in a different country. Some people pooh-pooh them, but I have had no trouble finding parts, having work done, and it seems identical to a D90 in every way (just not $60k!). I don't want anyone to think I'm bamboozling them and selling this car for something it's not. This is your chance to get a Land Rover for a great price!
I've put a significant amount of work into this beast since I acquired it in 2019, and it's in excellent shape. I recently had it fully worked over before a major expedition to Baja, and aside from a few small fluid leaks (its a land rover, they ALL have fluid leaks) it was in great shape. I cruised it 2,000mi to Baja & back with no problems, and it happily roared through 2k highway miles & absolutely dominated extremely rough and flooded roads without any complaints. Many other vehicles were stuck and the defender ate it for breakfast.
Can hit 60/65mph but prefers to cruise slightly slower. Possible to regear or repower if you need more aggressive highway speeds, but I drive it on the highway regularly and it's fine.

Some facts:
- 2.5L diesel engine ("12J" model)
- 5 speed manual, with 4WDhi+lo
- CLEAN CA title. Exempt from smog checks as it's diesel + pre 1997. I had no trouble registering it (it was registered in SD when i purchased)
- ~200,000km or 125,000mi. These things go forever.
- Fully rebuilt rear end / diff in 2020
- New alternator in 2021
- Comes with frontrunner slimline rack (~$1600 value) and frontrunner Jerry can + mount (~$300 value)
- Parabolic leaf springs for a slightly more comfortable ride (this slightly lowers the max load, but I've literally filled the vehicle to the brim and its been fine)
- Some small dents but absolutely nothing majorly wrong
