There's not many of these that get posted here, and I can just about guarantee this will be the only 5spd Long Wheelbase model that will.
Year, model 1994 Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear Exceed Long Wheelbase (LWB)
Engine 2.8L 4M40 Turbo Diesel
Transmission 5 Speed Manual (Exceptionally rare in LWB)
Factory Options Cold Weather Spec, Limited Slip Rear Differential, Keyless Entry
Kilometers 150,500 km (93,516 Miles)
Location Moorhead, Minnesota USA
Price $18,000 US
History: It was imported from Japan in March 2023 with 138k km by Motorcycle Warehouse in Portland, OR (Auction Grade 3.5). It came from the Tottori Prefecture which is on the west/north side of Japan, far from any radiation contamination or high snowfall areas. I do not have history beyond this. I did all of the work in registering it in Minnesota, and it carries a clean US title that’s ready to register in most US states.
Maintenance Performed (by me):
New Glow Plugs
New Fuel Filter
New Air Filter
New Radiator and Hoses
New Inclinometer Gauge
Fluid Film Rust Protection

Vehicle Summary:
This Delica is in excellent overall condition and is ready for adventure! The LWB Space Gear with a manual transmission is “unicorn” rare. I’ve only been able to find one other LWB 5spd example in all of my searches! It’s pretty clean overall with a few scrapes and dings from being 30 years old. It collects lots of attention whenever you stop for gas or bring it to Cars and Coffee!
The 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine runs great and delivers ~22mpg on road trips, where it's happy to cruise at 70-75mph. It’s comfortable for 7 passengers, and can sleep 2 adults, a child, and a dog quite well! The factory curtains provide a little bit of privacy for camping, and there’s plenty of room to move around with the high roof. This one does not have the rust, leak, or issue prone sunroofs or Crystal Lite glass. The 5 speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and clutch functions as intended. The Atlas tires have plenty of tread and snow traction. These have high/low 4WD with locking center differential, meaning it can be RWD, AWD, or 4x4 with a change in the lever position.
It fires right up in any weather when you turn the key thanks to the dual battery configuration. It doesn’t burn oil or coolant, and fluid levels never haven’t needed to be topped off during my ownership. The factory heated mirrors, heated wipers, and headlight squirters help clear off snow and ice.
I’ve taken care of everything that needed to be taken care of. I’d drive it anywhere. It does have small quirks as to be expected, but that’s the fun part of owning a vintage Japanese vehicle! It comes with some spare parts and upgrades that aren’t installed. Rust is minimal but present. I treated it with Fluid Film to prevent it from spreading. The exhaust after the muffler is rusty, but does not transmit smoke or odor to the cabin.
These are easy to work on and easy to get parts for. Lift kits, upgrades, etc, it's all out there.
No test drives without proof of funds to cover the purchase price. Fly into the Fargo (FAR) airport and drive it home. Or I can deliver it to an airport near you for a reasonable fee.
