1995 Mercedes 1224AF Doka/Crew Cab 57,000 miles. Located in central Ohio.
This is a bit of a unicorn rig, as it has the very rare front locker, and the cost of servicing, tuning, importing is done!
I’m looking for something done or close to done. I can add cash up to a limit. Not looking for a 200K rig. Soon to be ex-wife is taking a lot of my cash with her ☹ And since I’m losing the space to work on the rig, and with my growing urge to actually travel, instead of planning to travel. Getting something ready to go, or ready to go with minimal wrench time on my part, is the goal. Not really interested in sleeping in tents, canvas pop-ups, pickup trucks with campers on the back. Want an automatic transmission & 4x4, don’t need it to be a rock crawler, but suitable for full time international travel. I have a thread I started on here about the build, so that's out there for review. But life has thrown me some curves in the last couple of years thats got in the way getting it done. I don't have to tell anyone here that these rigs, when finished, go for very large dollars. It was for that reason I decided to build. My plan was to cut the crewcab down to cab+ and add a 16' reefer unit on to build out. But looking to expedite, if I can't put something together in the next 30-60 days, I'll rent space and finish myself. Listing with this community first, then I'll cross post. Open to conversations!
OM366LA Turbocharged engine/ automatic Allison transmission
I purchased this rig through Martin Krauss from Terra-exp
The truck was inspected & serviced while in Germany, and M. Schreyer in Germany tweaked the ESP, yielding about 290hp/700+ftlbs.
2 speed transfer case rear locker, center locker AND front locker, automatic tire chains
5x new Super Single wheels (wheels only) Air ride ISRI drivers seat
2yr old Batteries, new alternator, new starter, new belts.
New parts stash: Water pump, brake linings front & rear, rear wheel air cylinder rebuild kit (one installed)
Other: Tire changing tools, not just stock levers/hammer, the roller kind. Air over hydraulic jack, ginormous jack stands.
Ruggedized Dell laptop with Mercedes WIS/EPC workshop/parts program loaded
Factory workshop manual in English! Factory Owner’s manual in German
I have a lot of service records in German, of course. And it was last stickered for road use in Germany in 2020.
