1995 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Spacegear Camper Conversion - $25,000 OBO - Located in Bellingham, WA

Selling my 1995 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Spacegear. This van is perfect for anyone who’s looking for a go anywhere, 4x4 camper. Please reach out if you have any questions, and read on to learn more…

If you're not familiar with Delica's, these are highly-capable 4x4 vans powered by Mitsubishi’s intercooled 2.8L 4M40 turbo diesel engine, known for its efficiency and reliability. It consistently averages 22 mpg on the highway. The Super-Select 4x4 system lets you to easily switch between 2WD, high and low range 4WD, and lock the center differential. Snow, ice, rutted out dirt roads, it does it all with ease . The van has been very well maintained, with oil changes and new oil filters every 5000km and new air filters every 10000km. In the last 150km, it's received a new timing chain and a complete top-end rebuild with a new cylinder head at a Delica specialty shop in BC. The original timing chain had stretched but the problem was caught before any damage occurred. The fuel pump and fuel filter were also replaced at that time. This engine is ready for many more years of reliable driving.

The back features a thoughtfully designed camper conversion. The insulated plywood subfloor is finished with vinyl flooring for a nice aesthetic and moisture protection. Removable, insulated, reflective window coverings provide privacy and temperature control. The 10-speed remote-controlled MaxxFan Deluxe keeps the van cool on hot days, while the Vevor 2kw diesel heater provides dry heat in winter, using only 0.03 gallons per hour from the van’s diesel tank. The ceiling has two rows of LED lights, independently controlled by dimmer switches. A 12V USB port allows you to charge cell phones, and the 400W inverter allows for charging laptops and cameras. All of this is powered by a 100Ah lithium-ion battery with cold temperature protection and a built-in battery management system accessible via Bluetooth. The battery is charged by 200W of solar panels on the roof, managed by a Victron MPPT solar charge controller for safe and efficient charging. A Victron DC-DC charger is installed but not yet connected to the van's alternator; once connected, the camper battery will charge while driving. The Victron Smart-Shunt provides insight into charging status and load draws, all monitorable via your phone.

The bed measures 5’10”x3’, with a 4” foam mattress, and has comfortably slept me and my wife on many trips. Ample storage is available under the bed with three drawers and cubby-hole storage beneath the mattress. The main cabinet provides space for food, cookware, and other essentials, housing the heater, cook stove, electrical components, and additional storage. At the bed’s base is a storage box for a 5lb propane tank. Outside, the 8’ ARB awning extends to create a generous outdoor living area, featuring an integrated, multi-color, dimmable LED light strip.

This van has been the perfect rig for overlanding, rock climbing, and ski trips. It’s difficult to part with, but with a baby on the way, my wife and I have decided it’s time to find a new home for our Delica. Hoping to find a buyer who appreciates the care and effort that has gone into this van and will continue to enjoy it on many more adventures!
