This 4wd, right-hand drive diesel camper van is an immediate conversation starter. The rig is powered by Toyota's 3L (2.8 liter), 4 cylinder engine. The transmission is fully automatic. The LH119 chasis provides an extended wheel base for more space in the cabin. Vin number LH1190067241.
The odometer reads 83,800 miles (134,500 kilometers). New fuel injectors and a new timing belt were installed at 65,000 miles. New Hankook Icept IZ tires installed on November 2nd, 2023. The van has had regular oil changes every 4000 miles, and new air and fuel filters were installed in December 2022. The dashboard is fitted with an aftermarket touch-screen display with bluetooth audio, Apple CarPlay, and a backup camera.
I’ve spent the last 2 years converting the van for a camping set up. The interior walls and ceiling are paneled with ¼” x 4” tongue and groove cedar. Each panel was sanded and finished with polyurethane. Beneath the cedar I installed ¼” rigid insulation and Havelock wool insulation in all wall cavities. The vinyl floor is attached to a plywood subfloor which sits on top of ¼” rigid insulation and a sound deadening mat. The platform bed can be adjusted to create a sitting area with two tables.
The cabin is equipped with a 12-volt, 1500-amp hour lithium-ion battery and a 1500-watt inverter which were installed in June 2021. The electric setup powers four LED puck lights in the ceiling, a diesel heater, and outlets for charging your electronics. The diesel heater has an external intake and exhaust allowing for dry heat in the cabin when the car engine is off. The heater also has a controller to adjust the temperature.
I’m selling the van because I’ve realized that I’m too tall (6′-6″) to ride comfortable in the front seat. I should share that the front axle makes a slight thumping noise at 30 mph, and my mechanic told me that the inner tie rods will need to be replaced in the future. That said, the van has been very reliable and is ready for many future adventures.
