Hey all, I am selling my 1996 Land Rover Defender 110 3 door with Alucab Icarus roof conversion.
The truck is a 1996 Defender 110 with 300tdi, R380 trans, lt230 transfer case, Salisbury axles. 240k mi on the truck, the drivetrain is in good condition and doesn’t smoke or use any oil, and starts fine in the cold. (I’ve been as low as -17° in it.)
I have put a lot of work into making it a reliable daily driver and trip truck, I have been full time living/traveling out of it for the past two years and it has taken me all across the US/Canada and never once left me stranded.
She will do 75mph on the flats, but is most comfortable around 65-70mph. The worst mileage I have ever gotten is 22mpg with super strong head winds, and the best tank was 30mpg, and usually I average 24-26mpg.
The truck is overall in good shape and currently has no issues. There is some rust on the lower bulk head, and the frame has been patched around the outriggers and the rear cross member has been replaced. The intent when I first bought the truck was to do an around the world trip with it, so I have a new frame and rebuild kits for everything in order to bring the truck up to near perfect condition before setting out on that trip. Plans have changed and I am looking for a truck that can also second as a work truck in addition to being used for trips.
The truck has an Alucab Icarus roof conversion, 300w Renogy solar, 200amp/hr lithium ion self heating Renogy batteries, simple water setup with sink, and a Dometic 45L fridge. All this makes for a turn key trip truck with the ability to take you near anywhere you want to go. The truck comfortably sleeps 3 people.
The truck is currently located in either Santa Fe NM or Denver CO, but I’d be happy to drive it anywhere in the country to deliver.
I am asking $60,000. Will *maybe* consider trades of a pickup truck setup for travel.
