1997 Bluebird 4x4 Bus find

I found this random 28ft 4X4 bus for $25,000. :Wow1: It's been converted to a camper. I think it look like a ton of fun...or, better yet, several tons. Check it out and be sure to post pics if you decide to buy it! 4X4 Bus Awesomeness

I saw that bus about a year ago for sale in the Riverside area but I think the asking price was $15K. I would have bought it then if it was diesel.

That's pretty cool, and definitely different. I agree with 864x4rv: If it were gas, it would probaby have sold by now.

Well that is really cool. I usually dream a bit about something similar every time I get around a shortbus. I wonder what the front axle is.

I guess reading that, my main concern would be the 15K GVWR. That seems to be a little on the low side for the size of that rig.

Yep that is very low. My Ambulance conversion is 1440 Lbs and currently sits at 1180 wet (55 gallons fuel) without camping supplies or extra bodies. And that rig has 6 feet extra length and more interior fittings.

The low GVWR sounds like it was de-rated for license purposes. You'd still have issues if someone scaled you, but I bet the truck itself can carry a lot more weight.

You are right, I have exactly the same bus except mine is stock and does not have 4X4. It's rated at 26.000 GVWR

Ok beyond cool that the rig lives on here in Expo Land...
Now get out and do some trips so we can see it in action, I don't care if you just do a weekender, it will be great to see that rig out in the wild
