1997 Montero RS witk 160K

I am going to test drive 1997 Montero RS tomorrow with 160K on it, it does have exhust leaks and no proof of timing belt being replaced. I think I can get it for 1200$. so fixing exhaust leak and timing belt is a must. there is no other leak or rust and it appears for most part maintenance is kept up to date. when buying used these model and year what I have to look for?

Thx, this did n't provide me info I am looking for. for example testing 4x4 system, or trans. is 1200 good deal with 160K or should I look for another with lower millage.

Ask about oil consumption. Let it idle for a while then give it some gas and look for smoke at the tailpipe. Probably will need valve guide seals at that age.
