Alright, on the keeping it positive front
If I have attached this image correctly, I am most pleased to show the simplest ever gizmo for filling diff's, transfer cases, etc. I may be the last one to figure this one out, but I love this rig. I purchased an adapter from Home Depot that goes from a female garden hose connection (believe it is called FIP, F must be for female but I am not familiar with the IP) to a 3/8" id barb fitting. All of these 1 quart gear oil bottles have a similar snout. The FIP fitting screws on just a bit crooked and will not seal. The OD on the can snout and the ID on the fitting match but the thread pitch is off. However, with a sharp knife shave down the threads on the bottle a bit. Then screw the fitting down and it goes on perfectly. No leaks. Cut the bottom out of the bottle, attach some 3/8 clear poly hose, drill a tiny hole into the bottle at the open end, insert string into that hole, tie it to your roof rack, and fill away. Be smart about how you fill this funnel. A full one or two to start and small amounts thereafter and the funnel is empty with just small overflow from the diff.
