I am selling my 1999 E-350 7.3 EB Van. Just have too many vehicles, and need to downsize. It is a wonderful, well-built Van, very comfortable with many amenities, and I have traveled across the country in it for the last 8 years. I built this Van for hard core wheeling, but when I finished it was just to nice to run hard! I have done some high-altitude western rock crawling / camping, and mudding in the South East but that’s about it. I built it with a BW 1356 Transfer case, so low gear is LOW, it really crawls. And it cruises comfortably at 80 MPH on the interstate. At 75 mph or less, I get 14-16 mpg, not bad for a 9,000 lb vehicle. It is a sold van…I started restoration in 2012, and everything mechanical on the vehicle was either rebuilt or replaced, including the transmission, transfer cases, both axels, AC, brakes, coolant system, fuel system, etc. No expense was spared. The 7.3 has about 270K miles, oil is changed every 7500 miles, minimal blow by, and has had all the leaky gaskets and seals replaced. The leaks are common issues for the 7.3. at this mileage including oil pan, valve covers, low pressure oil pump (high pressure was tested), O-rings, etc. New 170 cc injectors, and a 38R turbo were custom installed with a mild tune and the engine puts out about 350HP and 700lb-ft torque. Exhaust temps dropped considerably with the new turbo, and the van pulls steep grades easily and passing is effortless.

The Custom Espar Diesel Hydronic Heating System provides interior heat, hot water for the shower and sink with very low amp draw; I have camped in Colorado in -15F and the interior easily reaches and maintains 75 F. The Espar runs cleaner on Kerosene than diesel, with lower maintenance, so I installed a separate fuel tank to hold Kerosene.

I also made every effort to keep weight down, and for all the amenities, it light compared to a comparable Sportsmobile. Last time on the scales with one passenger and loaded for a summer trip it topped out at 9060 lbs.

Van has some mild rust in the rear right qtr. It was not fixed properly by the body shop when painted. It is an easy fix, and I will repair before selling or take of the asking price. Otherwise, body and frame are solid.

Below is a list of the work I have done.. I am sure I will miss something, so please give me a shout if interested. I have most receipts, and invested way more that the asking price. Someone will end up with a very nice, dependable van…I will post more pictures in the next few days, and here is a link to the original build.

Was the diesel already swapped in when you got it in 2012? (looks like it has a v8 sticker on the van) Is interior height full 6' throughout the van? I'm 5'11. When was the U joint conversion done / do you have a rough estimate of mileage on it?
