2000 Ford Excursion Diesel with the robust and reliable 7.3 liter Power-Stroke Turbo-Diesel V8 (a derivative of the Navistar T444E used in large commercial vehicles and full-size scool buses - useful when shifting the Ford’s 8000 lbs of bulk. This is an a F250 (a substantial truck) with a passenger body fitted, after all.
One owner vehicle with 265,000 miles. The sole owner kept the vehicle in southern Virginia and the frame shows no corrosion penetration. The motor and transmission are excellent with plenty of power and smooth shifting. I’ve just completed a trip from Virginia to Vermont and the truck performed very well and average 25 mpg.
This Excursion will require some work for optimal performance and drivability. One rocker panel will need welding. The front toe control links have noticeable play and will need to be replaced or have new bushings pressed in. The A/C refrigerant should be recharged. The tires show dry rotting. The windshield and rear window wiper rubber is dry rotted. The seats need to be recovered and the foam cushions need replacement (factory replacement items in the correct color have been purchased and the work will be done after the truck is detailed). I’ve also noticed some dampness around the transmission seal and this may need addressing.
Overall this is a lovely one owner truck that could use some attention.
