2002 Chinook Concourse XL E350 V10 $35k

If this was 4x4 it would be worth it. Since it’s 2wd more like $25k... at $10k less it would be a great candidate for a 4x4 conversion.

It does really look good I agree!! I know the price a little high especially with six digit miles but I thought it was a good find of a great vehicle I should share. It seems most Ford 4x4 van conversion RV's hang around the $35-$55k price point. Ones closer to $35k seem to last just a few days!

There was a side entry that was going for $35k, and a 4x4 that was going for 40-50k. I think $30k is more fair for a nice one, $5k is the difference of new tires, some replaced/ upgraded parts, and the bumper. I'm looking for a side entry...

How do you think a Chinook XL would do at towing and launching a small 18' boat (less than 5000# on trailer)? I've been wanting to stick to 4x4 truck chassis but I like Chinook especially the Concourse XL model. Is side entry more desirable because rear entry is always road dusted and then your bikes and ******** are in way of door?

The XL are simply upgraded features to the camper cabin and will not impact towing. Standard on all Chinook Concourses is a towing package rated at 5,000lbs with a 500 lb tongue weight and includes trailer hitch and electrical hookup.

I believe the camper has a 10,700 GVW and dry it is 9,500lbs, the GCWR is rated at 18,500. Please bear in mind these differ among years, I know these are good for 2000 and 2001 with the V10.

The side entry are hard to find and really good for someone wanting fulltime fixed bed, this isn't me so I like the coach/bed setup. Plus this gives more living room when not sleeping...all in preferences. I travel 3 - 10 hours to get where I want to go and road dust has never been issue with rear entry, as a matter of fact your question is first time I heard it.

I’ve looked for Chinooks for years. I’ve seen 2 side entry’s EVER. Willywilderbeast here has one of them. I hate the rear entry but everything else about Chinooks are wonderful.

I did not notice before but this one has 150K on it. That’s a lot for any RV of any age.

Yeah the 150k on the v10 kind of makes this one overpriced. I just don't know who took care of engine for the first 150k so that makes it tougher for me. IF I had taken care of the engine since early or new I'd be more comfortable with 150k. I posted another better deal Chinook last week about 50k miles less and 8k $ less but doesn't have the cool upgrades of this one plus the color scheme is great on this above listed unit. It sounds like I'd be maxing out the Chinook pulling a boat with the Chinook factory tow hitch gear.

How much does the extra stuff run, about $5k?

I'd rather buy one with less miles and add my own bumper, solar and rino lining.

If you consider the fact that fleets (shuttle buses, etc.) get 300+k out of a V10 then it starts to look a lot more appealing. Heck, it's got me thinking! That is getting to be a hard rig to find.

In other news, you go first turning the sink faucet on! :D
