Selling my adventure chariot. The kiddos are grown and are not as interested in camping with Dad these days. 245,142k Miles.
I’ve given this truck mostly highway miles to the mountains for all fun stuff, meaning it's been driven the way it’s supposed to be driven. I haven’t beaten it up, but it’s no powder puff, and the exterior shows it a bit. I bought it with the less than stellar paint knowing that Colorado pinstriping is real. The paint is cracking in spots on the hood and tailgate, but it looks good from 10 feet. See pics.
I’ve put a lot of money into it to make sure this thing is reliable. It cranks in a flash, and pulls like the 7.3L diesel should. I do not have it chipped. Regular oil changes (~ 3k miles) all done by Saracino diesel. I only run diesel from Sapp Bro’s truck stop in Denver once I get to 1/4 of the 50Gal tank. The interior is in great shape. No tears in the seats (fabric ages better than leather IMHO) and the carpet underneath the floor mats is in great shape.
Overall the truck cleans up pretty nice. Full size photos
Stuff I’ve had done or done myself (Excel Diesel, Saracino Diesel or Bodacious Diesel)
- New Gague cluster
- Bock heater plug mod (Bumper, drivers side)
- New Pioneer stereo with BT + Mic for calls.
- New in-door speakers (I forget the brand)
- Theft prevention (it’s City proof);
- New hood deflector
- New chrome step bars
- Replaced all 4 door seals
- 50 Gal fuel tank from Titan (Gas gauge is not calibrated)
- Chrome rear bumper comes with (not installed, needs some brackets)
- A REAL Denso starter 7.3L - TG228000-8420 purchased from CNC Fabrication. Very fast, always reliable starting.
- Rough country 4” lift kit. You will get the OG air leveling system for the bed - you’ll need some brackets made to put them back on. Installed by Denver spring and suspension
- DELO coolant swap
- New Coolant reservoir
- New side mirrors (Extend for trailer use)
- New ball joints
- New inner outer wheel seals
- NEW ECM
- New ICP / Connector
- New Batteries
- New HD glow plug relay
- Strut replacement on the topper hatch
Jan 17th - prep for sale.
- New front rotors / pads
- Drag link
- Power steering pump
- Tie Rod
- Starter assembly (re-enforced the Denso starter support)
... and a new windshield.
Over 3k put into the big circles
- 5 Method 17” wheels
- 2 sets of tires both of which have plenty of tread left
It also comes with;
- 400 LBS of sand bags for winter driving
- The topper.
- Pewag (made in Pueblo CO) groove square link tire chains ($650) plus spiders to reduce movement.
- Chrome rear bumper (see list of to-do’s)
- Tralier brake assist (I’ve never used it)
- Gooseneck hitch in bed
- Sway bars (currently removed)
Some things you may want to do..
- Buy and install two more door openers for the front doors and install. Get's rid of the key hole covers.
- Put the chrome rear bumper on (not installed, needs some brackets)
-The shifting column on these things are notoriously crappy. I replaced it about a year ago (FORD OEM part from Napa). It shifts in and out of park fine, but it’s loosy goosy.
- The stereo is fine but it won’t give you the shivers when you rock your favorite tunes.
- Fog lights. Cables are there, they’re tucked under the bumper. Available for your lighting needs.
- The stereo is missing the correct insert for the dash. I have one but it doesn’t quite fit.
- Calibrate the fuel gauge.
- Sway bars currently removed.
You won’t get the storage box in the bed, nor the ratchet straps for the spare. You will get two keys + alarm fobs and the two keys for the Ravelco. You will also get the OG bottle jack, but that isn’t going to cut it. I’d plan to pick one up that works with the lift.
I have all receipts for the work done above and the carfax for the truck available upon request.
Clean title. AZ/CO truck.
