Adventure Time!
Posting this to help my brother out. He's owned the Montero for about 5 years. He purchased it after returning from Afghanistan (Army). It's been his pride and joy. Probably one of the nicest Gen3 Monteros around (especially with the upgrades and extensive maintenance).
2003 Mitsubishi Montero XLS (no leather). 142k Miles
Factory Features: Massive Sunroof, 3rd Row Seating (for 7 passengers), Rear Climate Control.
2003 is the most desirable year for the Montero. 3.8L Motor (runs on regular or premium fuel - previous required premium) excellent power, 5 speed automatic with tiptronic (holds speed like a manual on hills - brilliant programming ie always in proper gear), 24 gallon fuel tank (great range), Traction Control (best out there - search you tube) works better than Land Rover or Toyota A-Trac, Unibody with full subframe (incredibly ridged chassis), Independent suspension front/rear (most ground clearance of any comparable SUV) - took mine through the Rubicon, Massive Differentials 9.5" Rear and 8.5" Front.
