HI,

I am new to the forum. I picked up a 2005 GMC Savana SLE 6.0 2wd with some great upgrades. See pictures. It has a 4 inch lift with bags in the back updated interior and 50K miles. I am planning on driving this across the US with my family. in the upcoming summer and want to get it dialed prior.

I am a beginner and looking for pointers. If this was your Van what would you do to it? I appreceate any insight on past work on these vans and experience.

Info on the van

GMC Savana 3500 Extended Van. Power Leather Seats, Premium Touch Screen Stereo / DVD. T.V. Back Up Camera, Third Row Seat, 110 Volt Power Inverter, On Board Air Compressor With Tank Mounted Under Vehicle, 25 Gal. Water Tank With Pump, 10,000 Lb Winch With Remote, Secondary Battery, 4" Lift, Air Suspension In Rear With Controls, Roof Rack, New 33" BFG All Terrains, Full Size Spare.

Changes (if any) will be dictated by what you plan to do with it.

Looks to me like it's road-trip, campground, and fire-road ready as-is. Maybe get a fridge, load it with food and gear, and go have a good time.

6.0

thanks for the response. Any one know much about the 6.0 motor? I thinks it is solid but wondering if there is any good upgrades that people usually do.

It's already sweet! But just to chime in maybe two house mounted frame rail batteries (GM Racks) attached to the electric distb box for charging, some LED dome lights.

But really a sweet ride!:Wow1:

Upgrades... not so much.... buuut you can beat on it for ever and it won't flinch! You literally can't kill it.

What a beast..................

Advice? Bring a foot stool, my aluminum one works great. Just get out and use that sweet Van, you will dial things in after people start to realize what goes where when on the road.

A fridge and porta-potty were things I did argue that I did not need and did not carry for years, both are a "must have" since you asked. I even carried the porta-potty in the Van and did not use it for a long while so I get it. (just go buy them)............
